As described, it works very well. Under a pillow, sound is good.I'm sure it is not the cheapest on the market, but they have not cut corners in build quality.The friend who recommended this speaker said that a large national charity may be thinking about selling the speakers.

This under pillow speaker is useful
Very useful and easy to useā¦.and much easier, and safer to use than wearing ear plugs which could tangle round the neck if you fell asleep.

Sturdy, sensitive enough speaker for even cheap MP3 players to drive it to decent volumes.
I seem to break my pillow speakers every few years, and although my last pair were the BEST ever - they dont seem to sell them any more - and they were stereo as well!This appears to be the best of the bunch still on the market, although it is only mono and the sound quality isnt up to my previous pair.They do appear sturdy though, so hopefully they will last a long time.The volume control is a bit on/off in action, but other than that, they are fine, with enough oomph from my little mp3 speaker to penetrate the depth of two pillows; so I havent had to use the battery option.

This is a very good quality item at a fair price. It does everything I was hoping for. I would recommend this to others.

It is hard work listening to this device under a pillow, even at full volume.
It is not suitable for most pillows. If I had a hollow pillow I might be able to hear it.

Not great for price. Lots of interfence when listening to radio. Not happy with my purchase.

Best pillow speaker
I've tried lots of pillow speakers but this is the clearest I've found for the spoken voice. It's also the thinnest. It has an amplifier if you need it but I found it fine without. Very pleased.
