I have only used this product for a little over a month now and I find that it works very well for my hair. I was a big fan of the brand ‘Liquid Keratin’ in the past and when they discontinued their cream, I started looking for a new at-home product. This brand made my hair calmer, glossy and healed my sour ends from heat damage. It already looked more straight after the blow dry before using the flat iron. My hair is fairly fine but with natural bright curls as I’m mixed white and black with a quarter black. This product also allows my curls to appear slightly curlier than a beach wave when worn wet after a wash instead of my frizzy massive curls. I not only seek products like this for the anti-frizz and strength after straightening, but for that look of tame curls when worn ‘wash-and-go.’ It’s so nice to wash and only have half of my volume of curls when wearing it curly. I find the scent of the final product once blow dried and flat ironed pleasant and not ‘chemical’ at all. The slightly chemical scent is only during the process prior to completion.

I tried it today and I’m incredibly happy with the results!! My expectations weren’t for this to straighten my hair, just loosen my 4a curls in the back of my head. The front curls are already looser (3a/3c) from straightening with heat so I wanted to blend them and help with my styling routine of always having to stretch the curls in the back to match the length of the rest of my hair when curly (when straight, it’s all one length). I bought the clarifying shampoo and mask and used as directed but left the pieces out that didn’t need it. I blowdried all of my hair with my regular comb attachment, not a brush, to activate the treatment and straightened (at 390 degrees). I didn’t do a meticulous job straightening since this was my first time using this product and didn’t want heat damage. I basically just went over my hair 2-3 times, really quickly, focusing mainly just on the hair I wanted stretched. I didn’t straighten as I would if I was actually styling my hair. I immediately washed afterwards and styled as usual. The hair in the back now matches the front and I gained a full inch to 1.5 inches in the back!! I will say there is slight smell. Smells like carpet that’s been freshly vacuumed when you have a pet. It’s not terribly strong but it’s there. I’m hoping it will wash out with time but for me it’s worth it for the benefit it provided on my hair. I use strong smelling products so that helps. I’ll probably be more meticulous with straightening next time I use this to see how it really works but thought it best to err on the side of caution for the first use. The frizz is still there but my hair is incredibly frizzy to begin with and I didn’t use it exactly as directed. Hope this review helps! UPDATE: The smell fades after about 5 washes (I did use a sulfate shampoo a couple times even though you’re not supposed to). Nearly a month later, my curls still look great and styling is so much easier which saves me a lot of time!

I am not happy at all with this product. The first application was applied professionally, but it was really hard to hear, even with really clean hair. After the first week of hair washing, the hair went back to its normal stage. Keep in mind that this hair was supplied with a keratin process from another brand, so it was applied on the new growth. It did not work at all, as you can see from the second picture, which was taken a few days after the first hair wash. I will also add a third picture, showing the hair previously treated with keratin and other hair products from a different brand.

It does not last many washings. Great first results, very temporary.
