Beautiful item - alternative to Leuchtturm 1917
First impressions are of quality. I have not been happy with the past couple of Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks I purchased (having used them for over 20 years) and was in the market for an alternative. Finding a dotted notebook at a reasonable price and of the standard I used to enjoy with Leuchtturm was proving a challenge until I stumbled across Perfectly Penned, so I took a punt and first impressions mean I am glad I did!The packaging of the Perfectly Penned notebook made me feel I was unwrapping a gift to myself. The packaging minimised any damage to the book in transit (one of the problems I had encountered in buying Leuchtturm through Amazon). The fabric cover is tactile and a beautifully rich jade/turquoise colour. The pen loop is included and seems sticky enough to endure use (has to be purchased separately for Leuchtturm and cheaper alternatives I tried never cut the mustard).I am yet to see how it performs for my note taking (I use traditional fountain and Pilot V5 Hi-techpoint pens) but from the weight of the paper don't anticipate any issues. There is a warranty for peace of mind.It has 2 ribbon bookmarks which I find invaluable. The page numbering is very useful. I would have liked an index/contents spread to go alongside and perhaps a way of labelling the spine for archiving but I think these are small compromises for me to make for the quality of product I have received. (I never used the tear out pages in Leuchtturm, so the fact this one doesn't have it, doesn't bother me).Eyeing up the dragonfly design for my next one already...

Almost perfect
This is the only notebook on the market that ticks all the boxes for me:• Thick paper in ivory colour – to minimise ghosting while providing a visually satisfying contrast for black ink (which this paper takes well, being sufficiently dense as well as thick).• The cover looks and feels like leather, which for some reason matters to me. The manufacturer’s name and logo are embossed blind and do not stand out at all on the black cover – in fact, they are barely visible.• Faintly dotted, with a good alignment/spacing of dots between facing pages – arguably as good as it can be in a stitched notebook.• Numbered pages, yet without an annoying pre-printed index/key at the front.• Lies flat when opened at any place – especially after systematic breaking in by opening the notebook at every 10 pages’ mark starting from the outside and proceeding towards the middle• A reasonable value for money, bearing in mind that you get 253 dotted pages (numbered 3 to 255).I have no use for the fiddly ribbon page markers (I prefer index tabs) or the rubber band, but these proved easy to get rid of without any detriment to the look of the notebook. I do not need the pocket at the back either; fortunately, it does not get into the way to any significant extent once the rubber band is gone. A stick-on pen loop is supplied for those who may need it, which is a sensible choice. The gift box doubles as secure packaging, which this notebook needs, as the cover is luxuriously soft to touch (while being quite rigid). My only gripe is that the rounded corners could be cut more evenly.

Good looking - and thick - bullet journal with fountain pen friendly paper
I read several reviews of this Perfectly Penned bullet journal, which seemed to indicate some variation in quality. However it does have a lot of pages for the price so I took a chance. I'm pleased to say mine has none of the issues reported in previous reviews (mainly from last year?) - the corners of the cover are finished properly and there are no problems with the pages. The cover of my brown version has a nice faux leather finish that looks of high quality and I was pleased to find an adhesive pen loop similar to the Leuchtturm ones (their's are an extra cost) included in the box. The paper is smooth and a fountain pen test was successful. There was very slight feathering from wet writers but not really noticeable without close examination. The ink didn't bleed but a faint outline is visible on the reverse. I didn't find this to be any worse than, say, with a Leuchtturm 1917.The pen loop is a bit wider than normal so a pencil or narrow pen will not be gripped securely. A chunky fountain pen fits but might be too heavy and flop about. Also the spine is thin and looks like it will become very creased in use. This might look attractive so long as it doesn't split. The brown version looks really nice on a wooden desk with a decent fountain pen and although the logo is quite large it's reasonably subtle and looks stylish. I'm glad I took a chance on it.

Excellent quality, heavy paper
I've tried many journals now in the search for the perfect bullet journal. This one is definitely a winner! It delivers everything it promises. The cover has a nice, cloth-like feel, the pages at 120 gsm are sturdy with hardly any ghosting. I also like that it has over 250 numbered pages. The price is reasonable for such a quality product. (I got mine for less than it is listed now, but I'd still buy it). I've been using it about 3 months and am very happy with it. One journal I used before had a slick coating on the paper that resisted my pen's ink (I use a Micron PN--with the plastic tip as I destroy regular Micron tips since I guess I press pretty hard). This paper takes ink beautifully. All in all a high quality product! Much, much better than some of the well-known brands for bullet journaling (I don't understand why Leuchtturm is the gold standard--only 80 gsm paper and fewer pages?) and much better price point. Highly recommend!

Davvero professionale e comoda 💫
