10-Pc 3D Christmas Gingerbread House Cookie Cutters, Gift Box Packaging

Clever design but not well made for accuracy in cutting out shapes. Bends out of shape easily.

I am extremely pleased with this product. In the past, we traced paper and cardboard templates. I REALLY hated that. It took forever. This set makes things simple. We had our dough made up ahead of time, oven preheated. Husband rolled, I cut out the walls, floor, roof. The kids chose the windows and doors and cut those openings. We used the scraps to make extra shutters, doors, etc. Then into the oven. We spent part of one afternoon cutting and baking, waited until the next day to do the construction and decorating. It was fun, the cutters are sturdy and offer a lot of options and wash up well. I love that they have a nice storage box. We'll be doing gingerbread houses every year now.

I haven't actually used this product yet - just received it. But, straight out of the box, I noticed, for example, that the large cutter pieces are not quite square, as illustrated on the box cover. This means that it will be problematic to align the sides, front and back of the house, without its tilting. It would have been helpful if the maker had included a recipe and pan size, if a pan is necessary. Or can we just use a cookie sheet? Then we would know the thickness of the pieces. 9" X 13" pan? Regular sugar cookie dough? Gingerbread dough? Do you roll it out to one quarter-inch thickness? If you cut the pieces out like you would a regular cookie, peeling away the scraps, you will have to use a dough that absolutely does not expand or puff out in any way. It must be usable for complex shapes. Anyway, I'll give this a try and update the review later, since I am the first reviewer.

I am not very happy with this product. Large and small parts are made of different metal. Moreover, metal on smaller parts is stronger than on large ones. The metal on large parts is very thin and bends easily. Therefore, the details from the dough are not smooth. But despite this, the ginger house turned out to be beautiful and tasty. The children were pleased.

Honestly, I haven't had a chance to use them yet, so this review may be updated later. They came in a nice box. Each piece had an outline on the bottom of the box showing where they should be, which will be helpful in ensuring that I put all the pieces away when I'm done. The sides seem pretty flimsy, though, and we're a bit wonky out of the box. I was able to bend them into a better alignment, but I'm not sure how well they will last.

What an amazing set of cutters! Every darn year I've created my own stencils for houses my kids build. They love it, and I love how fragrant our house smells while they are on display. But, it takes a couple hours to measure, sketch, and cut the pattern ... even before the baking begins. And, in the end, they're nowhere as neat and detailed as the houses we made with these cutters. And it was so easy! I want to kick myself for all the years of wasting time.

This was a fun project! Definitely time consuming but worth it. There is a learning curve using these cookie cutters but for the most part they worked great. Main thing is to make sure you use gingerbread house dough... not just for cookies or is will puff up and loose it’s shape.

I knew these were small but didn't realize how hard it would be to actually build such a small house. Trying to "glue" the pieces together was difficult and made it look messy. If you have experience working with piecing together very small baking items, they would be very cute! They are durable enough.
