Bond 848 24-Inch Deluxe Bamboo Lawn Rake

I love the bamboo rakes for their rigidity. The one I had for years finally wore out (they go quickly when they start to go) and my local store did not have any bamboo rakes in stock. I found this one on Amazon and a few days later the biggest package I've seen got delivered to my house. The fully assembled rake was inside with lots of paper surrounding it. There were no damages in shipment. The rake works fine although it is not as high a quality as my prior rake. The bamboo is a bit thinner and the attachments are not as tight. However, the rake works just fine. After tightening a mounting screw, I proceeded to use it to rake gravel out of grass, rake twigs, and rake leaves. It did a great job. Considering the low price I paid for the rake, I am quite happy.

I ordered this as a surprise Christmas present for my Dad since he loves using bamboo rakes over metal ones (and unfortunately, for some reason you can not find bamboo rakes in stores). The picture of the rake makes the rake look really nice and exactly what he would want and the reviews seemed really good! However when I got the rake (the shipping took almost a week even though I ordered the rake using Prime 2-day shipping), the ends of the tines were twisted in various directions, all of the tines were different lengths (2 tines in the middle extended way far out from the rest), one tine appeared broken, another appeared fractured, and the whole bamboo part of the rake was loose and wobbly (it was definitely not fastened securely onto the handle). I would not recommend this product to anyone. If you want a nice bamboo rake, I'm thinking that it might be worth paying more money for the higher end products that are from a different brand.

This rake is the best rake I've owned, and may be the best rake available. This replaced my favorite rake, which had a cushioned rubber-grip handle but eventually broke after about 16 years. This new bamboo rake is lighter weight, so it's easier to handle. And it's nice that it's made of bamboo, an environmentally friendly material.This rake gets 4 starts instead of 5 stars for a few minor reasons:(1) it arrived with a "distressed" look all along the handle (which you pay extra for, for clothing!). There are small chips in the finish of the wood handle, as if it knocked around a lot before it was packaged for me and shipped. This is just an appearance problem, not a functional problem.(2) Possibly related to "(1)" above, you may get a splinter or two at first, but it's generally a very smooth handle.(3) The handle is slightly shorter than I wanted. If you're shorter than 5'8", then it will be fine, but if you're taller then you might have to bend slightly more than you would like. I find myself with one hand at the end of the handle. I would probably have one hand at the end of the handle even if it were a few inches longer. This is about as long as my old rake. I looked for a longer rake, but couldn't find one.(4) This rake grabs leaves so well that the tines get "clogged" with leaves and it takes some time to clear.

The rake did not look new, The handle was all scratched up and bowed. The handle is not straight , it has a definite curve to it. I bought it for a Father's Day gift for my husband and I was diasppointed that it didn't look better. He said it was fine and it didn't matter what it looked like. He was happy to get a bamboo rake because he hasn't been able to find one in any hardware store. I thought the price was high for the way it looked , but it will serve its purpose.

I love bamboo rakes. It's amazing that they aren't easily attainable at the local hardware stores. Anyway, Amazon comes through again. My old bamboo rake was starting to finally need replacing, so this was a great thing for me to find. It's pretty wide, which is both good and bad. It helps with big raking jobs, but doesn't fit into smaller places. I actually have two other size bamboo rakes, an eighteen inch and the small one must be about ten inches. They're all great tools. Love em.

it looks like what i was hoping for, a lightweight rake for easy use due to my arthritis. it arrived in a huge box without any type of packing material at all. the rake was just shaking around inside the box. the handle was broken (about 3 inches down the length, and half the width of the handle was just missing). the broken piece was not inside the box, so it was obviously broken before it was even placed into the box. so disappointed!

I thought I had found what I wanted which was a bamboo rake that was reliabile based on the reviews. However when I recieved it, one of the two metal side hinges was missing (you can see them if you look closely at the rake picture soomed in). I jury rigged something to keep the last bamboo rod solidified, and tested it out. The middle bamboo rodes moved every which way after just a few rakes. It didn't appear to be due to the side metal hinge missing, it just appeared to be due to the bamboo rods not being the quality of the prior bamboo rakes that we had at the house which lasted many, many years, and though a ton of abuse as well. I'm happy to reply to comments, but this rake did not do the truck for me.

This rake is made much better than the 30 inch flex rake bamboo rake that I also just purchased from Amazon. Bamboo rakes are hard to find so it is nice that they are available on Amazon. The packing could have been better for shipment also. The rake came in an oversized box but the handle was too long for the box. Consequently , the handle was wrapped in plastic but looks like it did get scrapped up a bit.

A great old fashioned rake that works, is flexible, and really scoops up the leaves.

While product was as advertised and appeared strong. upon use was a bit flimsy and cheaply made. Had to tighten and re-enforce certain parts

This rake broke within 15 minutes. Maybe I bought a bad one? Horrible quality wood. Within an hour the actual broke and the head fell off.

Nothing beats a bamboo rake for weight and strength. The handle was disappointingly thin, but I swapped one on from an older, retired rake

Cheap piece of junk. Every part is is made smaller that the older rake and the picture that is showing the rake is not what is sent out. I can not figure out why people think something made in china rates 5 stars. Believe it when people say this item is garbage.
