Cool little guide-book
We live in an older home. Recently, a repair-man asked if it was a "kit home", which I had never heard of before. I did some research, and this little book was very helpful. It showed many styles, floor-plans, and gave a bit of history. I still can't find definite proof of my house being a kit home. But there are many in my area and this book is like a small hand-book. It's a useful tool.

Great read, fun window into historical kit houses by Sears, Montgomery Ward, etc.
Fun read - make me wish Sears was still producing kit houses!

no plans
I love looking at floor plans from this era, so I have something of an addiction to books about the mail-order house genre. This is the first such book that has disappointed me. No real plans----except for one in a reproduced ad-----and the information is scanty and recycled. The book goes to 821 "locations."
