My Catholic Advent and Christmas Activity Book Paperback – September 1, 2004

This book is simple and charming. I have some of her other activity books, so I knew what to expect. I use these ideas for my religious education class. I was only disappointed in the quality of the printing. Some of the illustrations have very light lines. But, overall I like this book; it saves me time and the kids enjoy the puzzles, mazes and word searches.

This is a good book for supplementing your lesson on Advent or teaching the basics of Christmas. The drawings are cute and the activities are great for a variety of ages. I do wish there was more for littles, but they can be fairly easily adapted. Well worth adding to the bookshelf and used for this special time of the year!!

During the homily at Mass, we let our daughter, beginning at an early age, work these kinds of workbooks or read books about saints, etc, since many homilies are "over her head." These workbooks are geared toward her level of comprehension and knowlege, so during the homily she is reviewing or learning new things from the workbooks and being productive rather than sitting disinterested listening to a homily she can only partly comprehend (she is now 8 yo), and my husband and I can be attentive to the homily. I thought with Advent beginning soon. this would be a perfect thing for her to take to mass in the coming weeks. When she saw the workbook, she immediately wanted to open it up and start some of the activities instead of waiting until weekend Mass.

The pictures are very sweet and activities are good. It looks a bit too complicated for my 1st graders, though.

I used it in CCE class and with my niece during the Advent Season. It was a great way for the children who will receive their Sacraments of Initiation this Easter learn more about the miracle of Christmas.

I bought this book for the religion class I teach! The puzzles and activities are perfect for children. I am happy I found it! I plan on getting the Lent one as well!

I read all the reviews before I purchased and I was so excited about this activity book. Do NOT waste your money.It's poorly illustrated and every "activity" in it unimpressive. Seriously Mom's, you can put together simple crosswords, drawings and "activities" just as well or MUcH better than what is in this book.

I gave this book and the accompanying one for Lent & Easter to the person who arranges the children's liturgy at my local RC church. She loved them; she photocopied some of the games & projects and made up a small brochure for the kids to pick up at the back of church on the way home. Some parents said after Christmas that it was a great idea and when the novelty of the new Christmas prezzies had worn off the kids had fun completing the puzzles and games in the brochure; fun and educational without being 'preachy'.

This was great. I will definately get te Easter book from the same series. This would be appropriate for anyone, not necisisariely children.
