so far so good
My '96 Ocean Runner 150 started running rich (~15-20:1) a few days before the end of rockfish season. Aside from excessive smoking the engine ran great at all speeds with no alarms from the dash. Assuming it was either an air leak somewhere in the fuel line or something to do with the VRO I first attached a clear 3/8" line to the fuel inlet of the pump to check for leaks. None. I decided to take a chance on this kit before buying a new VRO and got lucky. My issue was a 1/4" tear on the small diaphragm of my original pump. Removal, rebuild, and reinstallation took about 30 minutes and wasn't difficult (I'm not a mechanic, just did my homework beforehand). It took more time to read up on this issue than it did to fix so I'm hoping to save someone some time or at least provide some specifics on how my engine ran when the fuel side of the VRO went out.

Not good quality
I used this rebuild kit to save some money on an old VRO pump that was still working like new, but 20 years old. I came to regret it. The oil bellows failed after about 45 minutes of use and left me stranded in the middle of the lake. It is supposed to be sonically welded together with the rubber bellows sandwiched in between the two halves. As you can see in the pictures, it didn't get welded as it should and parted under power. I ended up buying a new OEM VRO pump. It cost me almost $500, but it was money well spent. It was too late to get a refund by the time I took the boat to the water.

Oring short
An important o-ring missing from kit. It is and egg shaped o-ring. Without it, I couldn’t solve the leak. Ended up doing a vro bypass fuel pump for $125
