This charger is so smart it's stupid. Will not charge if a battery is discharged below a certain amount, which has proved to be every time when I go to use it. If I grab an old school charger and pre-charge the low battery first, then the electronics will allow this unit to actually charge. Otherwise it just kicks out after a half second. This renders this charger completely useless. I have a Napa 85-1010 at our business that has always worked perfectly - it's old school and has the analog meter on the front. It will labor through and charge a battery in any state of discharge. I bought this unit for home so I wouldn't have to haul the other one back and forth. Turns out I have to anyway. On the up side it works great as a movable shelf for your coffee cup. I paid for a top of the line unit that I haven't been able to use a single time.

This is a good looking battery charger . Looks to be well made . I have not had a dead battery to try it out . So for now it waits to be used .

I have a Camaro that hadn’t been started for 3 months after purchasing a new battery. I was barely able to get the car to unlock with the car fob. I was using my daily driver to jump start the car and had it run for 30 minutes before turning it off. The next day it wouldn’t start again so I decided to get this battery charger/jumper and after removing the battery and having it charge for more than 10 hours it had the right voltage displayed. I put the battery back in the car and viola it started like a champ. Haven’t had any issues this far with jumping any vehicle battery. Will have to look at my lawnmower battery in a month or two and see how well it does to start the lawnmower. I am very happy with the purchase.

The automatic feature is great, set it and go about your business. It will automatically charge your battery to factory specification on its own.
