Making underwater photography easy, fun--and unfloodable
I bought this camera prior to a scuba trip to Bonaire. Having flooded 3 cameras in the past 6 years, I had just about decided to give up on underwater photography, but was intrigued by the simplicity and unfloodable design of this one. I'm happy to report that it performed wonderfully, and I took some of the best photos I've ever taken. The negative is that the fixed lens means you have to get up really close to your subject, closer than some fish will allow, to get a decent photo. There's no zoom. The upside is that most photos will be well focused, as you're not messing around trying to focus a zoom. In addition, the underwater settings on the camera make such a difference, as does the video light, in producing more realistic colors in your final photos. No need to run them through a separate application. I also liked the small size and "packability" of the design, in an era where every inch of space in your luggage is at a premium. The video light worked perfectly, and it was nice to have to shine down into barrel sponges and into crevices. Much better than simply having a strobe flash! My only other minor complaint is that you can't upload photos to your computer/laptop/netbook via wi-fi, only to a smartphone or tablet.

The camera itself takes good pictures and video but what good is it if ...
Update*1/13/2015 late afternoon*customer service called back and they are going to pay the postage to look over the camera and recover my lost photos. I've upgraded from 1 star to 4 based on this promise. I'll let you know. He also told me they will be updating the app so it shares photos with the camera roll and Facebook. The camera itself takes good pictures and video but what good is it if you can't share them! The app is useless even if you can get a wifi connection you have to save each photo individually and it won't put them on your camera roll. Everytime I try to share a photo on Facebook it says successfully shared...but it never shows up on Facebook. Now it's started to lock up and when I did the reset as directed on the website I lost ALL of my photos from my recent trip to the Galapogos islands. I'm still waiting for the 1 guy in there technical support department to get back to his desk. I would try a different camera until they get the bugs worked out on this one.

Camera worked great during dive trip to St Lucia
I am very impressed with the quality of the pictures and video after using this for a week of diving in St Lucia. Last year I used a solution which limited me to video only. What I like about the camera is I can take both video and pictures. The video light is a must to capture the color at depth. I highly recommend to also purchase the video light. The piano buttons are easy to use at depth. The battery life on the video light is sufficient for your day of diving. I turned on the light when entering the water and left it on for the entire dive for our 2 tank dives. During our night dive other divers commented that they followed the video light since is gave out sooo much light. I charged the light everyday to ensure I had plenty of battery life.I've used both the cable and wi-fi connection to download pictures. Both work flawlessly.32Gb was plenty of storage space for the week of diving. I downloaded pictures every 2 days. However, I could have gone the entire week. I took roughly 600 pictures during our week of diving.

takes amazing HD pics and video in 30ft deep Hawaiian waters
Wow, takes amazing HD pics and video in 30ft deep Hawaiian waters. The true test will be next week in Molokai with depths over 100ft. The light is bright and the pics bring out amazing colors in the corals and fish. The problem is that it is really hard to get your pictures off the camera. You can only upload one video or pic at a time using the wifi app. The action cam app is way out of date and does not work with the new IPad air 2 or IPhone 6. So I had to download all the pics to my computer using the cable which was painful and tedious. The camera and light come with lots of parts and pieces that could be easily lost if not careful. Sand will get into all the buttons and crevices so it's important to soak for a while after your dive. There is no zoom so you have to get really close to subjects. I would give this camera a 4.5 stars if they would update the app for easier uploading and make compatible for IPad air 2

I got tired of always worrying about leaks and then "photoshopping" the pics to get good end results
Up until now I had given up on underwater photography. I got tired of always worrying about leaks and then "photoshopping" the pics to get good end results. With this camera it is easy. No leak worrys and great pictures right out of the camera. I found it easiest to carry the camera without the light. There were a few times when I wish I had the light along. Though it is a really compact unit even with the light. Figuring out and downloading the "Action Cam HD" wasn't too bad. You will lose some resolution on your photos when you wifi them from the camera to your device. Not too bad, though. If you want really high resolution downloads for large prints you'll need to hardwire the camera to your computer. Not that big of a deal. You can do it both ways because you won't want high resolution pics if you are going to be sending them around by email. For those of us who want to take underwater photos without much hasel this camera is great.

Nice camera; not a great app
So far, I used in diving in Hawaii this past week. It seems to be a good camera. I am getting accustomed to not having a zoom for pictures so that is an adjustment for me, but as long as it is taking good pictures that I can zoom in on when downloaded, then I am ok with that. I am still working with it regarding the downloading of the pictures. The app for the iphone does not seem to let the pictures be downloaded to a PC, but when the pics are on the camera, they can be downloaded to the PC. From my iphone, I had to email the pictures to myself. Tedious, since there was about 50, but now I know. I probably will not use the app too much, given this limitation. While in Hawaii, I also met with a professional photographer major from University of Honolulu who assisted with some settings.
