Has issues
Man the book is good, got it because of the bear grease podcast, but what ever printer printed these books was terrible. Ink blotches and the worst part is that there are no numbers printed for example it goes “ On the th of December” or “ the deer weighed at least pounds” it makes things very annoying

The physical quality of the book binding and print our subpar
Pay attention to the reviews that are talking about print that’s way too small, weird margins and missing information. It made this book unreadable for me.

Fascinating personal diary of German in America-1837 to 1841.
This young German sailed to the U.S. in 1837, stayed four years and kept a diary the whole dangerous, fascinating time. The ship he came on required 60 days to reach New York. He lost money to a fellow German in an investment scam. He worked his way all the way to New Orleans which did not impress him--except for one opulent hotel. He met many people on the frontiers, made friends and survived many near death experiences with animals, malaria, and villains.

A must read for all outdoorsmen and women.
The only way it could have been better was if all of the pages had been in the book. Was missing 6-7 pages between two chapters.

Amazing account of life in the 1840s America.
This is an excellent account of the travels of a young German man as he travels about America in the mid 1800s. His first hand experiences are both enlightening and a little troubling as much of history is. A great read.
