Helpful info, howto, plus lists varieties we can try in our garden deep in the Rockies
Got a used, looked new. Starts with howto on the whole garden & soil. Then lists a lot of varieties I will choose from for pretty much everything we want to try, I can even put in a couple apple trees that are good at elevation & with snow. Better ideas to protect thru winter. Amendments for our soil. Lots more courage now -- been trying for several years till now with mixed results.

Amazing informational book
Love this book! I live in Colorado and our soil out here is like growing in rocks, they say if you can grow in Colorado you can grow anywhere!! Well thanks to this book I’ve been one of the lucky few to get a garden to thrive! Any and all questions I’ve had about certain plants I have been to look up in this book and get the answers I need! High recommend to anyone in the Rocky Mountain area to get if getting into gardening.

Overall, very helpful.
Pretty helpful but has a few flaws which is why I took away a star. The first part is general gardening information slanted towards this region. The second part is individual plant profiles with helpful information like when to plant, days to maturity, good companion plants, varieties that do well with our short growing season and little helpful tips about each plant. One of the flaws is that occasionally the book will give unclear info on just when to plant outdoors when starting from seeds indoors. It will say to start seeds indoors x weeks ahead of when you intend to transplant them outdoors but doesn't tell you when exactly when that is. That's just on a few plants though. Overall, it's been quite helpful in helping me plan for my first garden this Spring.

Awesome book! Mom loves it.
Got this for my mom for Mother's day! She loved it. They live at high altitude in Colorado, so it's really nice to have a book tailored to the specific differences involved with living in the Rocky Mountains.

Accurate for the area
This is my absolute favorite Rocky Mountain gardening book. This was purchased as a gift for a gardening friend in SE Idaho. She loves it as well.
