Battery Pack for Sony NP-FV70 / NPFV70 / NP FV70 with Infochip and remaining time to maturity

This battery is virtually the same model as the Sony factory model, but much cheaper. Every camera that can fit for an NP-FV30, NP-FV50, NP-FV70, or NP-FV100 should be able to hold this battery (beware of the size and weight though). I don't own a factory Sony NP-FV50, so I cannot compare the two, but my PJ220 shows 6 hours and 40 minutes, that's a lot! I bought two of these, just to make sure, as I had no idea about the battery life. Now that I see this, it may be a bit of an overkill. But for this price, it doesn't really matter. Overall, I'm very happy about the quality and price of this product.Off to the buying of many SDHC cards now! :)Note: I made my order on Wednesday evening and my package arrived on Saturday noon (I live in Belgium), as it was expected. However I made sure my package was "fulfilled" by Amazon (sold by Dandy Shop, Germany in my case), and I advice you to do the same thing. If you have to choice between different "new" and "old" products, add one of the items, fulfilled by Amazon to your basket (you can click on "x new from £y"). It may be risky to have your package sent from China or anything similar.

I have been pleasently pleased with this very cheap FV70. I loan out camcorders to family and freinds for holidays and social events and I found that I had left myself short of FV batteries. I expected this battery to lose power quickly as other reports tell us. This battery though held it's charge, delivered power to a cam light and active microphone, and appeared to go on for ever. Obviosly it didn't but it was the equal to an original Sony FV70. Even down to the information on the screen as to power and time time left. One of the best cheap buys I have made this year. Very fast delivery as well.

Bought as an additional longer lasting battery for Sony CX 115 camcorder. Attached it on receipt and it seems to work perfectly. Camcorder data screen shows it exactly as the original NP FV50 battery, but with more capacity. Only time will tell if the lifetime is as good.Interesting to note that Sony supply the low capacity NP FV50 with their products and then state in the manual that this battery is NOT recommended for use with the camcorder!! Does this establish a case as 'Not fit for purpose' if you want to return the camcorder?

The day I returned the two batteries, this item became unavailable and it's probably just as well. It's described as a substitute for the NPFV70, but it didn't fit my new Sony PJ260VE - it was simply too big to fit in the grooves. So if it becomes available again, do your research carefully. It may fit some Sony camcorders, I can't say but it certainly doesn't fit mine!

This battery seems to last forever. Fits perfectly and retains all Sony camcorder functions. Reccomended for any one who wants a low cost but very effective replacement or additional camcorder battery.

I bought this to compliment the supplied Sony battery. I was concerned that the battery would not be recognised by the camera, but I have had no problems. It seems to last for ever and I use it all the time instead of the lower capacity supplied battery.

Works on my Sony cx320, been using it for over a month now, last approx 2.5 to 3 hours in real terms, indicator on camera says 6 odd hours. Been fully drained and charged now about 3 times. Only quarm is camera doesn't give a warning when battery is low, camera just switches off, unlike my original Sony battery. Overall would recommend.
