Best thing I bought for our trip
Great book! I only wish we had bought before we decided to go, because it laid out some really great road trips that we just couldn’t hit while being based in Reykjavík. The stops and suggestions it made for trips near Reykjavík were great, but I still supplemented the day trips with some additional internet research/detail. In addition to day trips and a map, it also lists a ton of other useful info from things to bring/know, Iceland facts, language basics, museums, geothermal pool spots, etc., etc. This book is as essential for a trip to Iceland as a good pair of hiking shoes!

Nice Little Guide Book
I bought this guide book a couple of weeks before our trip to Iceland. I recommend that you do so as early as possible. There is so much to see in Iceland, it's incredible. This book breaks up the Ring Road in sections. It was helpful as far as mapping our trip went, and gave some good info on attractions in each area. You will need more detailed maps of each area, though. I also bought Rick Steve's guide on Iceland the day before our trip, and ended up using it more because he gives more details, along with history of each area, and detailed directions to attractions, restaurants, and hotels. This guide is ok, but Rick Steve's is better.

Packed Full of Info
Lonely Planet guides are compact and brimming with information. I've bought two so far, one for West Africa and this one, and they're both really helpful and informative. The Ring Road guide comes with a map, which is really cool.

Great drive for when you plan to drive the Ring Road
This was our second trip to Iceland driving the Ring Road and this guide provided both great info about the major sites to see but also gave info about side trips which enriched our experience. The information was accurate and up to date. I highly recommend it for anyone planning to visit Iceland.

Good stop by stop info but nothing about camping places
This is the only book I could find that gave specific information about where to stop on the Ring Road, so for that I am glad I bought it. However, it only lists inns or hostels and doesn't mention campgrounds, which I think is a huge omission given the number of people who use campervans. I am using it to look up places on route to plan my trip, but I won't know until I take my trip if it was really accurate. There's a lot more information on line that you need to use as an adjunct to this book.

Very useful guide in planning trip to Iceland.
This guide book was very useful in planning a trip to Iceland. It included detailed listings for hotels, B & B's, restaurant and attractions to visit. Helpful info about currency, language, road signs, etc. I would love to say that the guide book really helped once we were in Iceland, but unfortunately Covid forced us to cancel our trip.

Highly Recommended
This was an immensely helpful guide. We did the Ring Road in seven days and referred to it all the time. One thing I definitely appreciated was the historical/background information on the various sites we visited. If I have one complaint it’s that’s I wish it had more camping-specific information—I has some, but I would have appreciated more.

Very nice guide. Just missing camping information!
Very nicely written und well-done research which saved us a lot of time. The format is also very practical. The only thing missing is information on camping sites and camper parking sites.
