Nice little device
I got this devise as I was bored of riding the same old routes and wanted something to find some new ones. I am happy to say it has done exactly as I wanted. Sometimes it takes you to slightly odd places but all in all it has been great. The only negative I have found is at the start, it is sometimes very difficult to work out what direction to go in as everything is so scrunched up, but once you get going it is fine

Decent
Good for planning random routes. Bit laggy when screen pressed. Only problem is with routes planned from mío share, they can be saved onto unit but navigation doesn’t work. You can see map but unable to ride route. Could be doing with a balanced route option, seems to be either on cycle routes or on main roads.

Great device if you can find one that works.
This is the second Mio I've owned, the first a 505 I had for ages and it generally worked well but finally gave up. I replaced it with the 605. Unfortunately the first one wouldn't always find a signal and after a week said that 'no satellite available'. Mio said it was defective and had to go back to Amazon. I returned it and received a replacement the following day. When I connected it up to my mac it was clear that this one wasn't working properly either and displayed a very odd message on the device. I spoke to Mio tech department again who said it was clearly mal-functioning but couldn't understand why. They were extremely apologetic. I'm having to return this one for a refund. Such a shame as in most other respects it's a very good satnav.Update May 2020. I bought another 605 direct from MIo (who gave me some discount because of the issues I had had with the previous two). This one has worked perfectly and not missed a beat. I love the big screen which I can read quite easily even without my reading glasses. It has all the functions I could possibly want and they are easy to access and use. I was out for nearly four hours this morning and used thirty percent of the battery power. The maps are clear and the directions it gives are very good and if you take a wrong turn it notifies you very quickly. If you ignore the instructions to turn back it will find a new route pretty quickly. The wifi connection works well as does the re-charging port. Very happy with the Mio 605.

Best bike GPS for family bike rides and exploring new routes around you
This bike GPS is amazing. I'm a total Mio fan now.Yes Garmin, Lezyne and the rest have the big stands in the shops and the market share but Mio have some things they don't.1. A Surprise Me routing feature. You can put in how long you want to be out for, what speed you go at and it will take you on new routes and bring you home on time. None of the rest can do this. You can of course just put in you want to do XX km or miles and it will find you a new route that way too, with control of what road types you want to go on and keep off the busiest roads if you want.2. Their customer support are so good at helping with problems you may have.On the downside there's not so much choice in mounts and there's no silicone case available for the 605 at the moment. This unit stops bike rides from being boring. No need to use the same old routes now.

Very disappointing - not reliable enough to be a useful navigation tool.
Only done one ride with this GPS and it will be the last as it is just not reliable as a navigation tool. Build quality is OK but the hardware and software feels like something from 7+yrs ago.I uploaded a couple of GPX files and attempted to ride a loop route. It thought I had reached the end of the route as soon as I started even though the start and end were separated by 100m. So I rode on for a bit then attempted use the 'Address' button to set the destination but this DID NOT WORK. Selected a point on the map and this DID WORK but the navigation fell apart when I missed a turn. I ended up giving up and switching it off as the damn thing was just spoiling a ride on a nice spring day!I did notice that the auto start/stop recording worked but only after a minute or more moving or stopped. Re-routing simply does not work. The GPS just shows a re-routing icon then bleeps continually. The screen is very reflective (March sunshine) so can be hard to read. Turning up the brightness had little effect. There is no high contrast colour theme setting available to help. The screen resolution is low (compared with modern devices) and the map graphics are too cluttered be readily readable. The navigation alert beeps are feeble, and there is no option to change the volume. The mount does not seem to lock the device firmly. The Cyclo is a heavy thing and it fell off the mount twice on my ride. Big fun if you like practising catch while cornering a 25 clicks! The CycloAgent software only works for Windows and Apple, there is no support for Chrome or Linux. I found the Mio servers to be slow and there is no cancel button when downloading updates (do the Mio coders know about async techniques?).On return from the ride I attempted to update the firmware as recommended by CycloAgent. Now some of the virtual buttons don't do anything at all and there is no exception message feedback to suggest why. I suspect that some important configuration files went missing when the device ran out of memory during the update process.
