The Birds of Oman

Was brought as a gift and they were very happy with it.

Great book but a little on the large size. It has some good colour plates of the birds and give a comprehensive write up of Oman's diverse habitat.

Oman is in the palaeartic region but also lies close to the afrotropical and indomalayan regionsconsequently birds from all 3 regions may be found in Oman.This excellent book deals with 350 species from 75 families.For each species the following is given-range,status,plumage and behaviour.The book is divided into 3 parts 1)a description of Oman the country 2)the birds of Oman 3)observing birds.What really makes this book are the outstanding illustrations by Martin Woodcock.There is a moving forward by the Sultan of Oman. A book to be highly recommended.
