Q: can I get a replacement lid for my 15 liter Electric deep fyer

If you go to the manufacturers website you should be able to get a new lid.

Q: Is there a way to controll the temp? I would like to use it for a water boil.

Yes - it has a temperature gauge and goes from 265º to 375º plus a timer - it can be used for boiling lobsters, seafood, etc. and comes with a strainer that fits the inside for easy removal of food/draining.
