Great purchase
Once I gave it to my son he hasn't wanted to put it down. Had to constantly remind him that it was a daily devotional or he would have read it all in one day. Thi book is actually quite a bit under his reading level but the colorful pages, superhero references, and the comic book style are right up his alley.

Great Way to Get a Boy to Use a Devotional
This is awesome for boys (or girls) who love super heroes. So much good info in the book about them, while each and every page is faith based. I highly recommend it!

better suited to older children
Bringing superheroes into a child's scripture time is a great idea. I think the passages are interesting and a good length. The author related the superhero stories to the bible passages in a manner that was easily interpretable for my 9 year old. For the most part the words chosen were terms he had no problem understanding. Where I think this book missed the mark a bit was in presentation. My son looked at the cover and expected there to be comics inside- or at least illustrations. To be honest, I did too. Each chapter looks exactly the same and there is no color other than the cover. I know that each chapter is meant to be a short reflection, but for children old enough to read this on their own, a few pictures or comic strips or some color could help draw the kid back the next day. Visual, it works for a parent reading and discussing with a young child.

Super Devotional!
Not only was this the perfect devotional for its age group, it was a superhero primer! Only since the Marvel and DC comics have become major blockbusters did I follow what was going on in these fictional worlds, but the backstories often eluded me. Since reading this book, I've gained so much more knowledge of each character and where they come from and I no longer feel like a novice. The language in this book is easy to follow and understand while getting across complex concepts of faith and God's grace. While perfect for late elementary to early middle-schoolers, it's also a great crossover to use as a witnessing tool. By correlating popular characters with some of the more obscure Bible figures, even as a mature, older Christian, I learned new stories and new names. From the moment I started reading to the last page, I loved everything about this fantastic book.I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Good devotional for kids
This book takes a cut and paste approach from 2 different directions. First, it summarizes a contemporary hero character, such as someone from the Marvel Universe. It brings that into the realm of the Bible and those characters, and provides a fairly short daily dose of counsel. I thought the lessons were well thought out, but somehow they seemed forced. Some of the language and phraseology are so common to the churched that those not raised in that environment may have a tougher time of grasping the meanings. However I think this is a beneficial source for young readers.

Must be a sore hard superhero fan to enjoy
No pictures. If you are not totally a super hero fan it's a bit much.
