Moderate length game with a unique feel
This is a solid game with very interesting rules. It plays like no other game and it's difficult to classify it. It's a bit difficult to teach the game to new players, but it only takes 2 plays to get a grasp of the game. I'd recommend closely reading the rules because there are some small ones that are easy to overlook when first playing. Most people who have played this game after I got it really liked it and only a couple were on the fence. At game nights in my local store, I have friends who ask me to get this game from my car because nobody else has it. Founding Fathers takes between 90 and 120 minutes to play and it is time well spent. If you want your gaming collection to stand out, then buy Founding Fathers.

Got this for my 10 year old grandson who is big into history. Said it was his favorite gift.

This board game was given as a Christmas gift to a relative. It arrived in excellent shape, and was just what I expected.

One Star
VERY difficult game to learn and I am shocked at the price. The learning curve will be significant.

Decent game for regular boardgames
There is clearly an educational aspect to the game. Not too much to make it boring, but probably additionally appealing to history buffs. I enjoyed the fact that the game does not feel like so many other games on the market. It's mostly a card-driven game which slows the rate that the game progresses since everyone has to read the various cards in their hands and 3 cards that are placed on the board. I noticed that one Amazon review gave it one star, stating that it's too complicated. Any regular board game player would not have a problem with the complexity of this game so I would suspect that the review was written by a non-gamer/home schooler expecting a Monopoly level of instructions. I think its better than the current Boardgamegeek.com rating would indicate.

Fabulous
I played this game tonight and it was fabulous. Up to 5 players hold cards which represent delegates to the constitutional convention. These delegates have special powers, which are varied and can be quite intricate. The players decide on whether to approve or disapprove historical sections to articles of the constitution. You can also debate federalist/anti-federalist or big-state/small-state issues. It is a very competitive game, with players trying to accumulate points through various means.

Among my favorites!
I love this game...it's beautiful, and rich in theme -- steeped in American History. 2-5 players with multiple mechanics and multiples paths to victory. Not rules heavy, but a strategic game nonetheless.
