Im lookin for something like this to hold barn doors . The doors are about 2 to 3 inches thick. do you have any suggestions ?

This would handle the weight but the clip is hard plastic and designed for sheet goods that are not very thick (3/4" to 1"?). I was afraid I would break the clip sliding it on the crossbeam of a folding chair that was about 1.5" thick.

Does the top open up or is it stuck in that position? I'm trying to add caster wheels to a horizontal pole stand.

They spread a little but no more than about 1/4"

Will this hold up a door slab ?

If it's lays horizontal and you have two of them one at each end you have to support it it will not hold it by itself the door is top-heavy and the wheels are too small to balance it
