Personal preference
It’s important to listen to a voice that is relaxing. I found the guide has a Pleasant voice, but it is so monotone and at times comes across as stern. My personal opinion.

Well it must not be too bad...
I just got this cd a few days ago. I've listened to it twice already. The second time I fell asleep before Bharati got through the breathing segment and woke myself up snoring. That tells me something. Swami Bharati doesn't try to seduce you with his voice. He simply guides you through the Yoga Nidra experience. I liked that part about it a lot. I don't know much about Yoga Nidra, I am learning. I have practiced some meditaton exercises, like the candlelight meditation, but as in any practice, be it meditation, or pole vaulting, you need that coaching and reading it from a book, doesn't always help. I tried that with Hatha Yoga and I gave it up after just a several months. It is helpful to be able to focus on the physical self for that period of time he guides you through the 61 points of the body. The empty, empty part of the 5th segment was a little troubling for me as it is not specific enough, like empty negative thoughts? If I were going to write or be a writer this would be the drug of choice for me. I think it is a very helpful tool and I like the idea that there is no music. It is simple and straight forward, no thrills, no frills, no chills. Very, very relaxing. Thanks to Swami Bharati for sharing this experience.I also want to take the time to just say how much I appreciate Amazon's efficient service. I have been ordering from Amazon for the past three years and I have yet to have a problem with receiving an order even from the Market Place and I have ordered from the Market Place three or four times. I have only had to return one item and it was a breeze. Thanks Amazon.

The Beginning of a Wonderful Journey
I just got my Yoga Nidra CD yesterday. My husband and I put it on last night. The sound quality is very good. The voice is very clean and clear. Unfortunately, we fell asleep before we could really get into the meditation. Actually, he fell asleep and his snoring was not conducive to my meditation! I turned the CD off and tried it again later. Then, I fell asleep within a few minutes.I thought this morning would be a good time to try again and I must say, I was amazed. I didn't fall asleep, but at one point, I did pass quickly through a "dream." It was quite vivid, but very short. During the first part of the meditation, my mind was very active. The voice would say, "Be aware of your forehead." I was aware of my forehead and within a split moment, I was aware of something else! The voice said, "Be aware of your nostrils." I was aware of my nostrils and the breath going in and out, then suddenly I was aware of the bills I had to pay today. Towards the end of my meditation, though, I noticed the stray thoughts started to become fewer and I was able to focus longer on the body part I was supposed to be focusing on. I made it to the 10 minute silent part, the last track, of the cd before my dog started scratching on my bedroom door. I was a bit disappointed at not being able to make it through the entire CD, but what I did do had a very calming effect on the rest of my day. It wasn't a sluggish calm, but a refreshing calm. My muscles felt relaxed, as well as my mind. I can't wait to try again tomorrow. This time, I'll bring the dog in the room with me, so she won't scratch on the door. Maybe she'll make it to Nidra, too!

Lovely Recording for Lucid Dreaming - Conscious Deep Sleep
This recording has 5 tracks. The first one introduces you to Yoga Nidra - and the following tracks guide you through actual practice. The guided meditations on this recording are entirely verbal - there is no music in the background. The introduction is followed with a meditation which guides you into a state of deep relaxation. The next track guides you through 61 points relaxation - guiding your awareness to 61 different points on your body. Then follows the practice of ascending breath - inhalations and exhalations begin and end at different parts of your body - ultimately leading to leading the breath up your spine. The last meditation guides your awareness to your "third eye" - awakening and opening it, going down to your throat chakra and then resting in your heart chakra. You are then guided into the state of emptiness. The purpose of recording is not only to help you remain conscious while dreaming, but also to help purify your mind and emotions (your energy field) from emotional attachments - attaining a state of deep peace, purify and clarity.Even though there is no music in the background, the voice is very relaxing and you may find yourself drifting into sleep while listening to it.

Very Relaxing
This is a very calm and relaxing CD. It doesn't have any music; instead it focuses on the breath, stillness, and relaxation. This is my first time doing the CD. The voice is very calming, and it trains you to relax consciously. I noticed that the feeling of quiet and stillness stayed with me after I finished it. This is different from other meditation CDs because you don't focus on all of the chakras in ascending or descending order. You do focus on a couple of them during the Ascending Breath track, but that's it. I think it takes a little more discipline to do than other meditation CDs because you have to focus on your own stillness within rather than listen to music and follow along. I am amazed at how effective it is at getting rid of anxiety. Before I did this CD, I centered and cleaned out my chakras then grounded. Then I did this CD and I feel very calm, still, and solid. Really relaxing.

Okay but not the best
Didn't find the CD's USA's voice relaxing, have had better Yoga Nidra guided meditations. But that is just a personal opinion.

Great for meditation not for staying sleep
I was very excited at first with this cd, and used for about week, however, I didn’t listen to the introduction and went straight to the practice on track two. I couldn’t understand why I would keep coming out of my deep restful sleep every night just after the cd would stop playing until I listened to the introduction and found out that the last track was designed to bring you out and or wake you up! Not what you want if one is trying to sleep all night. Needless to say I was very disappointed with this cd. So if you’re using for a deeper meditation; it is fine but if you need it to fall asleep and stay asleep , well not so much!
