AudioFlood Latest Generation Green Apple iPod Shuffle waterproofed

I tried swimming with waterproof mp3 players and waterproof iPhone covers and all ended badly. The water won. But I've had my waterproof iPod shuffle for a year now and it works and works. Yesterday mid swim in my icy cove in coastal Maine, I pulled my trusty iPod out of my swimming top where I'd kept it until I wanted to listen to my audio book. I didn't realize the headphones were not attached. I pulled by the headphones and watched as my lovely little iPod shuffle unattached sank to the bottom of a 15 feet deep seaweed bed. I dove, and dove, searching with no luck. But today I hiked out in boots at low tide, and searched the now waterless seaweed beds. Hurrah! There it was sparkling in the sun. And guess what? After 12 hours and two high tides sitting at the bottom of our salt water cove it still works!

I'm still in awe of the fact that I can effortlessly use this under water. It's perfect. In fact, the sound underwater is better than out of the water. Uses itunes so software is familiar, easy to load, and no need to format. No leaks, no confusing buttons. I use for lap swimming and pool jogging. This little gizmo works perfectly for both. I also have a couple of Sansa Clips which I have been using for running, which I like. But unfortunately, they are not water resistant - on a hot run I've dumped water over my head and when the water gets on the Sansa, it goes dead for about two weeks until it dries out. The waterproof ipod works great for hot weather or rainy day running, as well as in the pool. Just more versatile.

The best thing for a swimmer that was every invented. Keeps you entertained like nothing else. I have had mine for over a year and now bought one for my husband. He had had one then lost it and we replaced it with one from Sony. Admittedly half the price, but also impossible to hear anything while swimming. I did have one for 35USD from another company that worked well but the head phones were breaking within several months, so while I saved money with the device I spend way more by replacing the headphones as they can only be bought from the company.

I bought this AudioFlood waterproof ipod shuffle because I had to be on crutches for 6 weeks and wanted to be able to do something physical. We have a pool so swimming seemed like a good idea, but I knew I'd get bored. The ipod makes the time fly! It sounds great underwater. I did purchase different earbuds. I bought the Pyle PWP 10W earbuds based on previous reviews. I haven't tried the earbuds that come with the ipod. This is a great purchase for swimmers!

I bought this for my husband for his birthday and he told me he loves it, he clips the mp3 to his goggle strap and along with his waterproof ear buds and gets a good workout swimming along with the music.
