Works great with the LG OLED C4
Just bought a 42 inch OLED LG C4 TV to use as a monitor for my Mac Mini Pro M2. I wanted to disable the auto dimming feature. This remote allows me to access the service menu. The settings needed to disable the dimming feature are hidden on the C4 by default, but the options can be enabled using the latest version of ColorApp for windows , found on Github. There are many tutorials online that will help enable the hidden menu. However, there is a button combination on the remote that will also enable the hidden menu on the C4. But it may result in resetting your TV settings to defaults. Small price to pay in my opinion. Auto Dimming is now completely disabled.Search for this video "Dimming Disabled! LG G3/C3 Secret Menu STILL WORKS! (ASBL/TPC/GSR)"The steps in this video work with this remote and the C4, just watch the video to the end before the configuration.

Fixed LG auto dimming
I found an LG 39LY570H next to some garbage bags. After taking it home and plugging it in, it seemed like it was working. After making some popcorn and settling down for a TV show, I started celebrating. About thirty minutes in, my wife realized that the picture seemed to be drifting in intensity, to the point where the dimly lit scenes appeared to be completely black and unwatchable. Me and my wife figured “well that’s probably why it was in the dumpster.” Not being one to give up on a free tv that easily I googled “LG TV dimming problems” (expecting to learn about power supply failure or motherboard destruction or whatever) and found dozens of articles discussing that this was some sort of firmware “feature” to prevent burn in or something. I learned that the MKJ39170828 remote could access a hidden factory reset menu and turn off the dimming. After purchasing the remote and accessing the secret service menu and also turning off all the LG “dynamic contrast” and basically all LG “features” I now have a working TV! So to anyone considering throwing away their LG TV due to dimming issues, please consider buying this remote and turning off all the LG features! Worked for me! Best Amazon purchase I have ever made.

Works
Worked on my LG TV to help me get out of a menu that I was stuck on. Did not want to have to reset my whole TV so just bought the remote instead.

It worked! LG OLED TV option change
Had to buy this to access the service menu on my LG OLED TV to make a change because of LG's crappy processing that causes the TV to dim during extended dark scenes even when showing a moving scene. It's stupid that I had to buy this remote but at least it was cheap. If you want to know more about this issue because you may be suffering from it yourself then try searching for "This hidden LG OLED TV feature fixes our biggest complaint — how to turn it on".

Provides the required Instop key to exit a LG OLED tv from Factory Mode
A common problem with LG OLED tv's is they accidentally can be put into the "Factory Mode". My "oops!" occurred when a defective Direct TV remote sent some weird signal to the TV. If you Google it you will find it happens to a lot of owners. To get it out of this mode, you need the "Factory Service Remote", ie. this one. Or have a service guy come and do it for you. Or go thru the Factory mode warning, press the home key on the normal remote and wait while it enters the Home mode. Every single frigging time you turn the tv on!I bought the remote for under $8, installed two batteries in it, turned the tv on and pressed the "Instop" key" The TV entered the as-received startup mode and after re-entering the setup info it is back to normal. Well worth the $8 spent.
