Artisan Premium Stationery Sugarcane Paper Legal Pads, White, 24 Lb., Legal Rule 8.5 x 11.75 Inches, 50 Sheets/Pad, Pack of 6 Pads (CNF2191)

As a fountain pen user, it's really hard to find reasonably good writing pads and notebooks in US, not to say premium quality paper. I'm trying out various brands sold in US (not those imported papers (in internationally standardized sizes) used in almost all countries except USA). This product is okay for fountain pen if it's not too wet, the surface is very smooth and it's a heavy weight, 24 lb paper, and the back cover is thick. This notepad is ruled in gray, so if you usually use blue or blue-black ink, it's quite good to write on. The downside is that there's this "Canefields BioBased Sugarcane Paper" watermark printed on top of every page, and the back page is blank and is rough, so useless for me! I'm totally for ecological consumption, but if you have to waste a page per every sheet of writing paper, what's the point? Wish they had this information shown in the product details.

I love the weight of this paper and the sturdiness of the backboard. I am a huge supporter for sustainable consumption so I was really excited to try this product. However, there are a few things I do not like. As noted in another review, the back of each page is a completely different and rough texture and the "Canefields Biobased Sugarcane Paper" bold imprint at the top of every page is prominent and distracting. My biggest complaint is that the perforation is inadequate and it is impossible to tear the page from the pad cleanly. I ordered 2 dozen pads so I will use what I have but will have to try a different manufacturer for the next set. Others in the office can't deal with the top paper tear so they have already reverted back to standard pads rather than the sugar cane product.

Nice weight, smooth finish (on the front), good color. Paper does not tear smoothly from the pad, which is a disappointment, but the biggest downer is the feathering with any of my fountains pens with a medium or larger nib. Will not buy again for that reason.
