This product arrived with a tear in the bag and the coffee beans exposed. I cannot consume something that has been exposed to the environment or possibly tampered with. Worse yet, they have a no return policy so I guess I just threw away $25.Update: Upon a 1 star review for our damaged bag of coffee we received 2 complimentary bags of beans and coffee mug as an apology from Mountain Thunder. Kona coffee is not like other coffee. How do I know? Well we lived in the coffee belt above kona for many years and since become discerning coffee drinkers. It has a smooth taste. Not charred or smoky or bitter aftertaste like some franchised brands we all know. We actually would regularly visit Mountain Thunder coffee on the weekends. They are wonderful people there and they make an excellent product. We’re lifelong customers. I miss being able to go there often.

This Kona coffee variety is roasted well with a nice, hearty flavor. The beans utilized do not seem to be the higher end of the Kona beans, however at this roast level, the difference is minimal. Please note, if you order this ground, it is a little too coarse to use to make expresso, so you may have to burr grind it some. This may simply be a matter of preference. I've also tried their French Roast, but prefer the express roast, as I find their French Roast to be more medium, again just preference. I would rate this above all Lion's offerings, and below Bad Ass Coffee's French Roast. I was just in Maui, and did see this brand in some small retail shops. Price is good, less expensive than Bad Ass, a little pricier than Lion. If you like this brand, try Kauai Coffee as well, a good dark roast.

We toured this place east up the mountain from Kona last Feb. The owner of the B&B we stayed at used this expresso blend in our morning brew and we fell for it there and the excellent tour and overview at the farm (we toured at least 7 farms, this was one of the top 2 and only ones available with free prime shipping). Not sure how much of a value these are but the flavor is superb. We will see how long we splurge on pure Kona but for now most of Hawaii is hurting with the COVID lockdown and they really do have the smoothest most flavorable coffee.

Okay, if you are looking at this coffee you are probably wanting Kona coffee at a good price. This fits that bill. Is it like the Kona coffee I have gotten on the Big Island and paid $50 per pound...well, no. But is it really good...yes. And I will blend it sometimes with other beans and it has a nice full flavor. I will be buying more for when I want Kona coffee but don't want to pull out my top shelf Kona.

Used to buy this coffee from Costco in Kauai but for some reason, they stopped carrying it, so i get it direct from the farm through Amazon. Of all the Hawaiian coffees I've tried, this is by far my favorite (and having lived in Hawaii for 6 years, and traveled there several times a year for work for the past 10 years, I've tried many many many Hawaiian coffees...). Highly recommend this one!

This item was a severe disappointment. After our recent trip to Hawaii and experiencing "Kona Classic 10% Blend" coffee procured at ABC stores, we were anxious to try the Mountain Thunder 100% Kona coffee here at home expecting it to have a much stronger Kona coffee aroma and flavor, but such was not the case. This 100% Kona Coffee espresso roast had no aroma or flavor similar to Kona blend coffees at all. The flavor, if anything, is extremely mild and very much not like espresso either. Note: This item is NOT returnable for a refund and I clearly see why.

I like the Peaberry French Roast that we got while in Hawaii, but this Espresso is very good as well. Mountain Thunder coffee is delicious! I think I like it even better than the Kauai Coffee we used to buy at the commissary. I highly recommend it!
