A knife sharpener that WORKS!
This sharpener really does put a very sharp edge on all plain (NOT serrated) knives. I have always used "static" held sharpeners or "steels" to hone my knives, but once I started to use this electric sharpener, which is really easy to use, and has a "static" honing slot, my knives have performed as they should. Whether slicing fresh bread, tomatoes or meat, the newly sharpened knives sliced as if they were scalpels! I am VERY pleased with this device.

After the learning curve worked very well
There was a definite learning curve in getting this unit to produce a fine honed edge. Ultimately, the re-edge of the knife is concerning the first time you do the grinder. The vertical honing slot works well; you just have to pull the knife across it quite a few times to get the new edge sharp. But ultimately you get the edge you are looking for. Handled all of my knives well.

I have bought two of these now because they are a fantastic tool as well as wrth the money
I bought my first knife sharpener and was very pleased with it. A few months later I got another one justlike this one for my birthday. I gave my first one to my daughter and son in law who finally wore there'sout. She called me asking where I got it and told me what happened. They used that knife sharpener for10 or 11 years before it wore out. Since it's Christmas I ordered them another one. They were very happy to get another one and are still thanking me for their gift. As far as I am concerned I will continue to order and use this as long as it's available when i need to order another one

Great product!
I bought one of these for myself in a brick-and-mortar store and found that it sharpened my knives to a razor-sharp edge. When my sister was visiting me from out of town, she remarked on how sharp my knives were, so I bought her a set of knives and this sharpener for Christmas. She used the sharpener on a lot of her very old knives that had never been sharpened, and she went through every drawer and sharpened everything she could find! She loves it, and so do I, and I'm glad I bought it for her!

Totally non-functional
Motor wouldn't turn on reliably, when it did, there was a terrible grinding noise. If you put in a knife, it stopped.Filings that fell out make it look like this is a retread of a unit that was previouslyreturned.Too bad! Had an identical unit that lasted years!

Works fine, nothing special
This is a small and lightweight sharpener. The motor is undersized and slows down significantly if we apply pressure. A careful but light pull of a knife through the grinding slots is needed. It works well with patience. Due to it's shape it only sharpens scissors that can be taken apart or that open to nearly 180 degrees. The grinding wheels put a slight bur on the steel edge and need to be honed in the vertical slot and cleaned well before use. It is good value for money but the motor speed prevents me from recommending beyond occasional light use.

Easy to use
This is an easy to use product which works. I have several knives that are dull. After using this sharpener, knives are sharp as new! Can't go wrong.

Avoid it
- The motor is very weak. Even with a very slight pressure the wheel slows down a lot. Add a little more pressure, and the wheel stops.- The idea to use rods for knife sharpening is a joke. After a couple of months of use, my knife cut groves in these rods, and since then the rods dull the knife instead of sharpening it.- Now I realize that If the motor was stronger and I used the rotating stone for sharpening, my knives would cut a grove in this stone as well. Who came up with the idea of using the side surface of the wheel? With this design, the knife touches the wheel in the same place over and over again, and it will cut a grove that will create a dull blade instead of sharpening it.I've tried several different sharpeners and now I'm convinced that the only option is a sharpener with an abrasive belt. A belt will never get a grove that will be spoiling your knives. A belt creates a surface that stays sharp much longer compared to sharpening with a rotating stone or ceramic rods. Don't waste your money and time on different kinds of sharpeners - find one with a belt.
