A great book.
The "If I Were A Kid . . . " books are excellent. We have more than one from the series. They are very informative but also fun. I highly recommend.

Good info. for kids about ancient greece
This book is a good way to introduce your children to the culture of ancient Greece. It is colorful and attention grabbing. Appropriate reading for ages 6-10 yrs.(at average reading levels).

Informative but not very engaging
This book is very informative which is great! The three star rating is because it isn't written from a kids perspective which is what I was hoping for from the title. Seemed like it should have been more engaging with comparisons from modern children to the ancient greek child. There was a touch of that but not nearly enough. We used it for our homeschool unit study as a read aloud. It mentions the Greek gods quite a bit throughout. Does a good job describing day to day life in varying city states.

Not a good overview of ancient Greece
The book spends too much time on the Olympics at the expense of discussing daily life and Ancient Greece's enduring contribution to Western intellectual development. The other books in this series are better, but all are too short to justify their asking price.

Fun and educational
An excellent book to engage children and teach them about ancient Greece. I got this book for my kids as they were doing a project on ancient Greece and found it an excellent source of information and good supplement to google.
