Technique of the Saxophone - Volume 3: Rhythm Studies Paperback – November 1, 1986

I’ve been through the first 2 in this series and they were outstanding. Just starting with this book and where it might look easy, you need to slow down and really work. I highly recommend all three of the Viola books!

Incredibly helpful book on rhythm. Viola knows exactly what a developing saxophone player needs to expand his/her sense of rhythm. The book is organized perfectly, and the price for a new book represents excellent value.

Great for sight reading. Material, is actually very Jazzy and some phrases even improv. Worthy even as it doesn't really mention Jazz. Joe V. loves to teach subtlety.

A thorough exploration of many different rhythmic ideas. A steady progression over 4 sections. Includes cut-time and double time exercises and etudes. Various different time signatures, If you can't quite handle Creative Reading Studies for Saxophone - also by Joseph Viola, then try this one, and work your way up.
