I used it for the ceiling vents since we live in basement, Mother in law is elderly and she lives upstairs ( She loves it hot 85 degrees) we were roasting downstairs, so bought these in hoping that the heat would go upstairs. My husband and I love it alot cooler. These magnets do help alot. Highly recommend to anyone looking for some heat to be directed in another area.

I have floor heating vents in weird places all over my house (hey, at least it's paid for). I don't use the furnace since the wood stove seems to work better. The vents just collect dust inside. These covers really do the job. I can mop over them, stomp on them, the dog can walk over the vents more comfortably now, etc. They stay in place really well and they seem to be keeping out the dirt. I took off one star because they are white. I don't buy white. I throw away the white undies that come with the nice colors. Didn't even get married in white. I had to use my worthless "As Seen on TV" 12 piece furniture repair system magic markers to color over them. They don't look so good, but at least they blend in with the floor, sort of, and they are not white. So, these work really well for metal vents, but it would be nice if they would offer them in different colors.

Plates caused over $1,500 in water damage. The covers reduced the air supply and resulting pressure caused central AC to freeze and shut down. Resulting melt caused extensive damage + mold. AC tech was another $275. If your unit is 5-10 years old the plates will eventually destroy entire central AC condenser. Then your only option is to replace the entire system. HVAC pros are 100% in agreement that these are an AWFUL product. THESE SHOULD NOT BE SOLD!!!I wish I had done more research...

These fall off very frequently because they barely stay on because they are not tall enough to actually hit the top and bottom which has more flat metal. So they have to magnetize to the actual grate part which is a very little amount of metal to be in contact with. I feel if they actually made them taller and the came into contact with the top and bottom flat metal they would magnetize much better and stay up. Until then they continue to fall off and are not very good at what they do.

My friend introduced me to this product, but the vent covers he ordered were incredibly flimsy! These actually stayed on, even on the two wall vents I have. My spare room warmed up at least 10, maybe 15 degrees after I put them on. Will be buying more for my basement vents!

I had been looking for something to cover my registers. The back of the house is freezing and the front of the house is super hot because of the direction of the sun. If I turn on the AC to cool down the front of the house, the back of the house gets even colder. With these they actually do stick to the registers stopping the cold air from coming up through the registers. I'm so happy I found these. I can now better control the temperature in my home.

These are awesome. We got a puppy and he would stay in the kitchen during work hours or when away from the house but there is a vent that blows on the wood floors which when running a/c created a poor environment as he would freeze and the floors were very cold. Would pull his bed to the opposite corner of the kitchen and I couldn't let that continue.This was a fantastic solution. Was easy to trim and worked exactly as intended. He was a happier little guy when we had to leave after.

I've ordered two sets of these to cover my basement vents when the air conditioning is running. Even with our vents closed, most of the air was leaking into our basement which makes it cold while the upstairs rooms overheat.Originally I used tape, but it's a pain to tape off the vents during the summer only to have to remove it in the winter when we want heat to come out of the vents. This is a great solution. The magnet is strong enough to adhere correctly, and the magnets are thick enough to seal off the vents really well.
