NEW NIXSYS DW-010 IDE/PATA DVD+/-RW Internal Drive

I chose this rating because it has preformed well. It was easy to install because my computer automatically installs new drives. All I had to do, was plug it in and the computer did the rest. Would recommend this to anyone who needs it.

The faceplate fell off; the Nero8 essentials disk did not work; the drive was very noisy when I first bought it but that seems to have resolved.

Although my PC is ancient the thought of having to purchase a newer model fills me with dread...My purchase of the NIXSYS DW-010 IDE DVD+/-RW Internal Drive with Software saved me from having to make that purchase. I have a gazillion programs that will not work on a newer software version. The internal drive allows me to continue using my CD's until the very end....

First of all I had issues with the tray opening and closing. It would open but wouldn't close. Then it quit opening altogether. About that time the indicator light quit going on as well. I didn't even have a chance to test if it read disks or burned disks. The problem was apparently electronic, which with all of the tiny circuitry was beyond my ability to even attempt repair. I had to send it back. I ended up buying a used rom/ram drive for $6 that is enough for my needs.

Seems to work well. Good replacement for an IDE drive, since there aren't many out there. One small problem - the mounting screws that were included didn't seem to fit the mounting holes. Fortunately, I had some spares from other units.

it installed very easily, it does work , but it is really slow at burning dvds, and playin dvds, but it was the only thing that would function on my computer

Plug & play, worked perfect. Remember to set as slave if on the same ribbon cable with a hard drive, otherwise a conflict..

The door on this unit sticks, but so do ALL of thew other units I've had sooner or later. The only thing is how SLOW this writes.
