Great safety razor for beginners
I just got into safety razor shaving because I like doing things in a way that takes more skill, and got tired of my wife using my razors to shave and not changing the dull heads out.My overall inpression of the razor is very positive, I will list out the pros and cons under this. I am using Astra Premium Platinum blades with the razor.Pros:1. Balance is toward the head of the razor, I didn't like it at first but once I got familiar with it the balance actually gives pretty good control.2. I have not cut myself yet due to the designed placement of the razor (with the exception of cutting off raised skin bumps).3. The handle doesn't slip in your hand unless you have shaving cream on your hand.4. The space under the blade has enough room for at least 2 swipes before needing to rinse it out.5. The chrome finish rinses off really easy but dried shaving cream can be hard to get off.Cons:1. The cutting angle is very narrow, if you are off by just a little you will drag the blade or head over the hair, or just be scraping shaving cream off with the comb. It took me 7 shaves to get used to the proper angle, but once I did it glides over the skin and takes all the hair with it smoothly.2. When changing the blade the curve it puts on it causes the blade to get hung on the bottom of the threads or pinched on the guide pins, it just takes a little bit of a pry to get it out. On the flip side of that the blade does not move at all in the head.3. It takes a little pressure to get a close shave in my experiance but less then a cartridge razor, especially after reading multiple guides to safety razor shaving that state you shouldn't need to apply any pressure, but I am still learning the razor. Conclusion, I highley recommend this razor for beginners, it is VERY hard to cut yourself and inexpensive for the quality.

High Quality Product, Well Designed. Closest Shave I've Had in Years.
The first time I used this razor, I cut myself. I hadn’t cut myself shaving in about 20 years. The reason I cut myself is because this razor is engineered properly. This may sound contradictory, so let me explain. In most safety razors, the blade is recessed too much and is at an angle that is considered optimum to prevent nicks and cuts. Because in typical razors the blade is recessed too far, the shaver must press harder to reach the whiskers. Still, the shaver will require two to three passes to obtain a close shave because the angle of the blade is too sharp; this often results in razor burn. If you are an experienced user of safety razors, I’m sure you’ll agree. This razor has the blade at the proper angle as well as at the proper depth. The result is the closest shave I have had in decades. If you’ve used a straight razor you know why the safety razor was invented: 1) There is no need to sharpen the blade because it is disposable. 2) The angle of the safety razor is automatically correct. 3) It is safer than a straight razor because the blade is recessed. This razor will take a bit of getting used to. It took me about three seconds, but I’ve used straight razors, safety razors and disposable razors for about 50 years. So, that’s just me. I highly recommend purchasing this product.

Without question, the best razor I’ve ever owned.
I’ve been shaving for 55 years (I’m 67 and shave 5-6 times a week) and this is, without doubt the best razor, of any kind, I’ve ever used. I get a close, nick-free shave that’s more comfortable than any razor I’ve ever used. I left Gillette a few years ago and went back to a double edge razor because I was sick of the cost for blades, plus the idea that multiple blades are better is absurd. Besides, Gillette is now run by a bunch of nut jobs, apparently. The other thing I like about the design of this razor is the simple way to replace the blade. I’ve been using a popular double edge razor that opens with a butterfly mechanism. It worked fine for a year, but with the hard water here in northern Virginia, and the soap I used, it clogged too easily. This razor won’t do that. In short, I wish I’d discovered this razor years ago.

Great handle for the price!
So I bought a safety razor cause it was the last option to try. I've always broke out badly after shavingmy neck and it was bad. So I purchased this shaver handle and a set of blades and let me tell you! Wow!I had the closest shave ever and it's been three days since writing this review and I have not broke out.The shaver. -Good weight. Not too heavy not to light. Not flimsy feeling at all.The chrome- very nice and shiny. The handle.- I went with black cause black and chrome go together.Would I recommend this??? Yes!My wore enjoyed my neck being much more smooth and kissable. ;-)Way better than the store bought bics and stuff. I'll never go back to a multi blade razor ever again. Those are straight trash. Gillete and Bic can go in to the can from now on.

I was in the market for a nice razor that wasn’t something super aggressive or expensive
I'm a every day shaver and i had purchased this very nice razor. The package comes nicely packed and includes the razor and gift box. It really does not get better than this for the price. The fit and finish is flawless. The black finish is just beautiful. The weight is perfect, hefty and solid! I really like the feel of the razor in my hands as I’m using it. There is no issue in my razor with blade alignments. The blades sit right on and there are no play.Very smooth and efficient at the same time.Great for morning shavers and quick shavers. It's very hard to cut yourself with this razor.Customer service was very helpful-they quickly responded to my question. Finally, the razor has become a shared razor because my wife now refuses any other razor I’ve given her. Highly recommended, especially for the price.
