Another great Disco classic
Once again Goldlegion did it again, Bringing back some of the best Disco classics.Vicki Sue Robinson's sophomore set is the continuation to her debut "Never gonna let you go". The CD kicks off the the extended version of "Daylight" (the first single from the album). One of my favorites on this CD is "How about me". I really believe it could have been a huge hit with better promotion. "Falling in love" stands out also. I'm greatful to Goldlegion for adding the single mixes of "Daylight" and "Should I stay", Most Disco fans love the extended versions. I do too, however, I like the singles mixes better, You can put more on a CD comp. or ipod. The Extended mixes are great, but they take up alot of room. Thanks again to Goldlegion for bringing back Vicki Sue Robinson. Long overdue.

Vicki Sue Robinson
For an artist of the seventies that had only one major hit, she actually had many other songs that hit the Disco charts. What an era! Wasn't familiar with any songs from this particular CD but according to the charts she had three songs that hit the Disco charts, Should I Stay I won't Let you Go and How About Me which has a great Latin dance rhythm . How About Me? which is as expected, very danceable. And Daylight has is my most favorite. Don't know why it never hit the pop charts.

A worthwhile remaster
This, VSR's second recording, comes to life for the first time on CD. I wish I could say the same about Never Gonna Let You Go which, though on CD, is sonically a dud (maybe the original recording was not so hot. I have a feeling that was the issue). But forget about that here. The CD sounds great, and the vocals come to life. Vicki was big on multiple background vocal tracks; here you can almost feel the space between them. Daylight is great, but this collection shows more of what Vicki had to offer with some nice ballads (Falling in Love the standout). You really haven't heard this record if you haven't heard this CD. Nice job, Sony.

had this on vinyl,.
Vicki Sue, "Turn the Beat Around", Robinson, this was a great second LP. She covered Bobby Womack's, "Daylight", which was a great disco club hit. The second song, "Should I Stay, Should I Go", was huge, had the "New York Community" choir singing behind her, great great song, but Vicki shines on the slow songs, like "Let Me Down Easy", wonderful wonderful vocals. Of course, the last song, "After All this Time", is very Vicki Sue, with the latin, R&B, jazz favor all mixed into one.

DAYLIGHT’S GONNA CATCH ME UP AGAIN with Vicki
An artist so much more than TURN THE BEAT AROUND from her first album although being a one hit wonder would half cemented her place in disco and pop. This album shows more variety but especially like her dance interpretation of Bobby Womack’s DAYLIGHT. SHOULD I STAY/WON’T LET YOU GO is another mover while LET ME DOWN EASY is a lovely ballad.

At last Vicki Sue
Some people only think she only had one hit, "Turn the Beat Around". But, those in the know followed her other pop infused dance tunes and later her 80's club version of "To Sir with Love". This set features "Falling in Love", a ballad that shows just what afine R&B inspired artist she really was. This album is a fine tribute with some real gems.
