Fabric Snow Chain Textile tire Chains suv Snow Sock for SUV/4X4/Light Truck (KD446)

I bought these almost 2 years ago and finally needed them tonight.My family and friends had to get up an icy, snowy hill to get to our AirBNB tonight. Our car only has front wheel drive and theirs only has rear wheel drive. Neither one of us were making it until I put on these snow socks. Without them our vacation might have been ruined.Just buy them and keep them in the trunk for when you need them. You may have to turn off traction control also.

We used this product in the French alps. It worked great fore a few short drives and then no more. Had to buy new ones locally

Just as described. Did the job

Went to the mountain with the Family and Friends to Snow Ski. The lead car driven by my daughter was not an AWD but highway condition did not require chain. However when they start to go up to the cabin which was a little elevated from the main freeway i got a call that the car was slipping and can't move forward anymore. I was a bit worried as we were still hours away to help. I asked them to try and install the new Tire socks which they brought along just in case. Few more anxious minutes of waiting, i got another call that they were already in the cabin and was very glad and proud that they were able to install and got to drive the car quickly. With the road still icy around the area near the cabin we just left the socks on for the next 2 days while we were driving around the ski resort. When we head back to the city the socks were removed before getting into the freeway ramp as the freeway was clear from snow or ice and did not require chain.When i got home i inspected the dirty socks and noticed some thread of the fabric (near garter edge) coming off loose but all in all the sock was still in working condition though dirty but should still be usable , i would give this 4 star .

We were excited about the possibility of these vs using chains. We bought these in Feb 2021, however, in Oregon we don’t get a lot of snow so we didn’t have the chance to use them until this last winter. We had a good amount of snow fall back in February 2023. First time out and putting them on and they ripped at the seam. It was not bare pavement, it was snow packed roads. Drove the recommended speed limit. Of course, the price of these have now gone up and because it’s been too long since we purchased online, we won’t get a refund. We love the idea of these socks but not sure if we want to spend the money on another set.

Snow socks are so easy to put on in comparison to chains. This is my second pair as the previous pair disintegrated from driving on the toad without snow. In some areas Highway Patrol will require you to put on chains before the snow starts but driving these on anything but snow will damage them very quickly. CA HP therefore does NOT consider this a lawful recovery device and you WILL be required to carry regular chains as well. So in summary; if you have a 4WD with all season or snow tires, these will work great in an emergency when you are already in snow but need the extra grip. Even so, I have used them various time and all but on of the CHP officers told me I can’t use them and needed to use chains instead. Carry both, use socks when there’s only snow to drive on. Use chains when the road is not consistently white.

The product seemed ok, when I ordered it the link said to order a certain size for my car. When I received the product my tire size was not included in the description. I contacted, and left a message for the seller to contact me to verify size. I waited for 7 days for a reply. I sent them back and purchased elsewhere. Took 10 days for seller to reply. The product itself does work in snow. Dry or icy roads ruins them quickly.
