I ordered these gas struts to install onto a cedar chest lid. I knew when I ordered them that no mounting hardware came with them, so I purchased them separately. The standard size of most strut sleeves is 10mm. These struts have 8mm sleeves, which aren't sold anywhere. If the manufacturer is going to have a specific size sleeve that is different from everyone else, the mounting hardware should come with it. I'm returning these and have already purchased replacements that actually work. If mounting hardware came with these, I would give it a 5-star review.

We purchased these to replace the original ones in our king sized lift bed. Because we have a 14 inch mattress which is quite heavy the original hydraulics assisted in lifting the bed but couldn’t hold the weight once it was open. These new hydraulics not only assists in lifting it but once open will hold it open until we push down on it to close it.Well worth the money to us.

After installing both struts and closing the bed 2 times (this is on an RV), one of the (clips popped off and the connection to support bracket came off completely. I placed the clip on the strut a second time and had the same result. I do NOT think I had a defective strut. I think that it was likely user error - I was probably not precise enough in mounting the support brackets. So, I'm giving these a 4.

Need to be a little stronger for truck toolbox lid. I have a Weatherguard toolbox. Maybe heavier than most. They do keep the lid up but feel like they need to be stronger. The lid is not anywhere near 60 lbs but because of the angle of the mounting and the leverage the cylinders have more pressure on them than appears. Overall working ok so far.

Within of two days of installing both struts, they stopped holding up a plywood lid that weighs half of what they should hold. Also came with no mounting hardware

So far so good.

Perfect replacement for my Carefree RV window awnings. I did reuse my original eyelets as they were smaller but the fit and function of the struts is perfect. I ordered 2 more for my other awning, shipping was really fast and the packaging just right.

Great item, makes my door pop open with ease now. My sons 3 and the door picks him up 👍🏽. Easy to install
