Surprised by the excellent audio quality
Surprisingly good audio quality. Bought these for internet conference calls while traveling. Excellent mic. Origamis into a small bag that fits easily in my backpack. They do appear to be a little fragile, but that's the trade-off for the weight and foldability. Extremely lightweight and very comfortable. Fairly priced. Recommended.

Connection method has changed
I have a DSP400 that's about 2 years old. One earphone stopped working, but I was happy enough with the unit, it's small fold up size and sound quality, to buy another one.The new model has changed, though.Instead of a USB connector, it has a regular 2-wire connection that plugs into an adapter, which, then, plugs into USB. While perhaps more flexible, in that the headset can be plugged into a 2-jack system without the adapter, it's an extra piece that can get lost, and I only use USB.The new model's output is also stronger than the old one; too strong for command recognition on the Mac. Even at the lowest calibration setting, I have to speak very softly and, still, the commands are only recognized about 50% of the time. The output strength isn't adjustable on either model, unfortunately. One other note: the USB adapter will only work with the Plantronics head set. I've tried half a dozen other headsets from as many companies. They all have an annoying hum when plugged into the adapter. Typical Plantronics! For me, the DSP400 drops one star for the overly strong, non-adjustable microphone output, and another for the unnecessarily proprietary and easy to lose USB adapter.

Better than Dragon's headset
I just finished a 3-month escape from summer heat. I forgot to take my headset along to use with Dragon Naturally Speaking. I purchased and returned several headsets from Radio Shack (8 miles away,) finding all of them inadequate for the task. At length I decided to shop on-line at Amazon and discovered that a gold mine of possible headsets was offered. I selected the Plantronics DSP400 because it was specifically endorsed for use with Dragon and because it used a USB port. After ordering it I waited only three days and it was delivered. It proved to be extremely handy with it's fold-up design, very comfortable to wear and it has outstanding clarity. I like the flexibility of the USB connection and that it will work nicely with a USB multiplier. I view it as a superior alterative to the headset that came with Dragon.

FOLDABLE HEADSET - revised
So far the Plantronics works better than the previous headset I had. The headset is foldable and comes with a storage bag. It takes up a little more room in my laptop than I wish it did, but can't complain too much about that. For some reason I did have a little trouble getting it set up on my computer but once it was set up, it seems to work well. I've only used it a couple of times so I will see how it holds up.After trying the headset again (about the third try), my computer doesn't recognize the headset. It says it isn't connected or isn't connected properly. It's a USB...hard not to be connected properly. I had problems setting it up and had to get my I/S person involved. At first he had problems too but then it seemed ok. Tried it again today and nothing! Returning and will purchase something different. Also, after looking online, the headset I received doesn't match the picture of what I ordered! That's disturbing!

Very good, a little fragile
This is an EXELLENT product for creating podcasts. It is ALMOST as good as some of my USB condenser microphones in recording quality. It does have a little more feedback noise than some of my other microphones but nothing that is not easy to remove with Audacity. There is no noise cancelling but the small foam on the microphone does a decent job as a pop filter. My voice sounds very natural with this headset. The sound is good and they are comfortable to wear for a long time. The problem with this headset (and the reason I took one star) is the fold feature. There is no going around this issue, these headphones are fragile. The center folds but is not very strong, it forces you be very careful so you don't break them. I would never put this headset in a backpack of any kind for fear of them breaking in half.On the other hand I think that if you are careful with your equipment (as I am) they will last you a long time. It would have been better to not have the folding feature and make the headset more rugged.I had a USB Logitech headset for a while. It had excellent sound but the microphone was poor. This headset has just as good sound but it has a great microphone.

Amazing thus far
OK so it's fresh out of the box and I've only made 5 calls via Skype, but after trying 3 other headsets - this Plantronics DSP400 Foldable Multimedia Headset is the ONE!I wear glasses and make 3-4 hours of Skype calls every day so the headset quality, comfort, & ease of use is HUGE. Let me first say the USB mic & audio imput is the ONLY way to go. I also like to have the radio on while I make calls and the noise cancelling feature on the headset works quite well. You can have the audio up quite high before the person on the other line of the call can hear ANYTHING.If you make a lot of calls - don't buy a $10 headset, treat yourself and your clients/people on the other side of the call well and purchase the Plantronics DSP400 Foldable Multimedia Headset.

Disappointed, just over a year, left ear went out
Worked great for the first year. Just recently the left ear keeps cutting in and out. It seems to be a intermittent connection in the wire. Not happy. Naturally, Plantronics will not warranty the item. This will be my last Plantronics produce that I will buy

great sound
The overall product was good but not great.. I have had this product less than two months and sound has gone out of one ear already after I starting crackling sound on the head set. It is not great in a setting where you have a lot of people talking in an office setting.
