I recently renovated an old cupboard in my house (which in itself is an epic saga of a story) and wanted to make the space useful to store various things, including several pairs of boots and shoes, so I started looking into a way of getting as much storage into it as possible.Initially, I thought about wall-mounting some shelves in it, but I balked at the thought of drilling holes into my wonderfully smooth and recently-replastered and painted walls, so I started looking into shelving units.The cupboard isn't massive (roughly a meter square) so I needed units which were plenty tall, not too deep and not too wide, sturdy and able to take a knock or two. After a good deal of hunting and pondering, I decided to go for two of these ones, and was pleased that they arrived within a couple of days of ordering them. I was a little concerned however that the packaging that they arrived in had been shored up with duct tape, which set me worrying that there might be bits missing.>>>>BUILD 'EM UPOnce I had hauled them out of the car (I had to pick them up from the depot) and brought them into the house, I set about building the first one. I was pleased after counting all of the parts that there was nothing missing; five shelves, eight vertical supports, ten front and rear shelf supports, ten side shelf supports, six shelf centre supports, eight feet and various other bits. You also get a free rubber mallet (a good quality one, too) to use to build it, which is incredibly useful.They're incredibly easy to build; it's just a case of inserting the tabs on the front, rear and side shelf supports into the holes of the vertical supports and whacking them into place with the mallet. There's no screwdrivers, spanners or anything else required, but you'll need a flat-head screwdriver to help to bend the tabs on the centre supports, which is the bit that requires the most effort in the whole process of building these things - but it's not difficult once you figure out how to do it. The best thing to do is to bend the tabs initially by hand into an almost ninety degree angle, slot them into the holes in the front & rear shelf supports, then poke the screwdriver blade into the hole to slightly bend the tab inwards. You will then be able to attack the tab from beneath the shelf and bend it back in on itself, which locks the support into place.>>>>STRONG AND STABLEOne they were both whacked together with the rubber mallet, I was hugely impressed with both of my shelving units. Even with nothing on them, they felt incredibly sturdy and strong, so I put them into place in my cupboard, where they fit perfectly. I was able to place the two bottom shelves far enough apart to fit tall boots on them (three pairs per shelf) and the third and fourth ones closer together, leaving the top one open for more tall boots.After filling all of the shelves, I was pleased that I was able to get all of our boots and shoes onto them along with a whole heap of other stuff, freeing up space in other parts of our very tiny house. The shelves are big hit for us!>>>>SUMMING UPThese are absolutely brilliant shelving units, which are really simple to put together and are super strong. Don’t forget that they can be set up in different configurations, so that one pack can be set up to be two shorter shelving units, and the supplied joining bits can be used to tie them together into an ‘L’ shape.All in all, I have no doubt at all in my head that I’d recommend these to all and sundry. In fact, I’m pretty certain that there will come a time where I might buy some more of them for mg garage.

These are exactly what I needed. For £40 the quality is brilliant and far exceeded what I was expecting. Very easy to put together solo. Great amount of storage and they’ve taken my overstuffed cupboard and given it a new lease of (highly organised) life.Dispatch was super fast. Delivery was good via DHL.I’ve now got friends ready to buy the same shelves as me because they’ve seen how helpful they’ve been for me and also want to have better storage options.Fantastic all round. Can’t fault and can’t recommend highly enough.

I purchased 3 of these low priced racks for my garage from “Storage Affairs” and was pleasantly surprised by the Sturdy, High Quality items that l received by Courier. After watching the u-tube link supplied by the company prior to construction, l found it very easy to construct the first rack and the other 2 were just a matter of following the same procedure & instructions. Unfortunately l noticed one of the shelves had a flaw/crack and l was concerned that this might weaken the product so l contacted the seller and requested one replacement shelf. Darren who replied to my request immediately posted 2 replacement shelves to me along with an apology for the damaged shelf l received. The 2 new shelves arrived promptly via courier. I found the product to be just what l needed for my garage and the customer service from Darren at “Storage Affairs” was second to none. If l need any further racking l will definitely be purchasing it from this company and will also recommend them to any friends or colleagues requiring anything similar in the future.

Like it all, well made and very rigid when assembled. In use in the garage.

I bought two of these units to hold storage boxes in my shed and all I can say is brilliant they are super durable I've had them for a while now and no problem, some of the tools so I have are quite heavy and it can still withhold the weight

Seems to be a good quality product for the price.Went together pretty quickly and easily.Is fine (not wobbly) free standing on concrete floor in garage, and is more stable than I expected.Shelves are MDF, but seem strong enough for the described purpose.Would I buy again? Already ordered two more in larger size.Interestingly, the uprights are two identical generic pieces with joiners half way up. If you wanted to go 50% higher, you could buy another of these and add third upright pieces, and more shelves. At that height, stability would probably be an issue, and you should tether the top to the wall. Could build two 270cm high units from three of this product, except you'd be short of one set of upright joiners -- perhaps the seller could supply these.

This was purchased to add some desperately needed storage to an outside store cupboard. This was the nearest dimensions I could find to fill the space, although would have liked one double the depth but couldn't find any.The unit was easy to assemble - it took around 15 mins to put it all together and is an easy build for one person. The shelves are pretty sturdy and should take a reasonable amount of weight on them, although for this application it's only lightweight items (recycling boxes, etc).I was particularly impressed that this one comes with a rubber/nylon hammer in the box which makes assembly even easier to do.
