It's okay
I purchased this product after thoughtful research on rear view cameras. After being on the fence if I wanted to go with a wireless camera or wired, I decided to go with wired because I drive a F150 and read about reception issues with the wireless. This particular camera does not have many reviews. However, this company makes a similar (but bigger) camera that has several good reviews here on Amazon. This camera, from what is written about other reviewers, is mostly installed on campers. However, I was looking for quality and seemed like this would be a good fit for my truck.I decided to install this myself. I pre-drilled holes into the licensed plate as well as the backing behind my license plate to allow the screws to go directly in (I later welded the camera bracket to my license plate for security). I ran the wire securely along a harness that goes from my tailgate to the underside of the drivers side cabin. There's a rubber grommet that I poked a hole into and later sealed with silicone after running the wire through. For power, I took off sections of my dashboard and hardwired it to one of my two power supply for the cigarette lighters. I thought about hooking it up to my reverse lights but decided that I wanted to be able to turn the monitor on when I was driving or for other times, not just when I was going into reverse.I did a test for power and the camera and it came on well! However I noticed that two things didn't work on the monitor: the power button and the volume control. This monitor is nice that it comes with sound. I did not think this would be an issue but later on it became an annoyance when I wanted to turn on the monitor while driving but would hear outside traction noise. Although the volume would go down some, there was still audible noise from the monitor while driving. For the power button, I pressed the power button off several times and checked my connections, but it still would not turn off. I have my own on/off switch that I just decided would connect it to and mount the switch directly on my dashboard (I drilled holes into my dashboard). Thus I could turn it off and on manually.Overall, the camera works good. It's nice to have something to use to help me know what's behind me when backing up. However, the issues with the power button not functioning properly and volume control not being able to go all the way down are the two down factors I would have to say plague this product. I am not sure if I was given a defective monitor but for the price, feel the features should work properly. Although I will not be removing or replacing it anytime soon or ever, I don't think I will recommend this particular product to a friend.

Works as advertised
I could have given a higher rating, but the connector on the cable is large. I had to use my largest drill bit to get a hole large enough. Most of my problems installing it was in getting the cable routed and the large connector though the space. Attaching the camera and monitor was a snap. I deal with electronics so finding where to attach the wires was easy for me. I have a large pickup, so having the long extention cable included in the box was the main selling point to me. The picture is good both day & night. I will see how it handles dust and dirt. I did seal the back of the camera, from other reviews water can get get into the case from the back. One thing on the camera it would have been nice to have the top labeled. The mounting holes allow the camera to be mounted upside down, so check the image before you finish the mounting.

Great camera
I purchased this camera to go on the rear of my fifth wheel. I wanted to be able to disconnect the camera when I unhooked the camper. I contacted the manufacture and they told me what to order. When the camera came in, you could tell from the time you opened the box that this was a quality product. Packaged great....easy instructions and no hassle to install. With the cable I got from the company, I can disconnect it easy. Just went on a 800 mile trip and no problems. In rain and in the night...it was perfect. You can see up to 3 lanes of traffic behind you.

No way to tell if the camera part is still good as it has an unusual hookup that can't be ...
The monitor died. It started with a blank spot on one corner and proceeded from there to a blank screen. It did work good---for a few weeks. No way to tell if the camera part is still good as it has an unusual hookup that can't be plugged into any other monitor that we have. Waste of $.

Works Great
I bought this because I use a truck camper when traveling. The picture of what is behind me is very clear. I replaced a cheap one so I was able to compare a cheap one with this one. The lens gives you a fish eye view so judging distance is next to impossible. Some of the best cameras have distance markers. For my use this one is fine.

Easy to hook up
I was very pleased with this camera. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The wires were well marked. If you use it as a rear view mirror and not as a backup camera the wire marked " reverse" is not hooked to anything. It is meant to be hooked to the backup light switch .
