Stay away if you've lost someone to suicide
SPOILER ALERT: I didn't care for this book with it's ultimately tired romantic trope between the heroine and her nemesis. The best part of the book was the information about pharmaceutical drug trials which from my own knowledge is pretty accurate and the author did a good job of using that (eventually) as a major plot point but it took her a long time to connect the dots between the clues she dropped and what they meant. I just never warmed to Molly at all. What offended me about the book the most however, and in a really serious way, was where, especially in one section, the main character is incredibly judgmental and unsympathetic toward people who commit suicide. By coincidence I happened to read the book the same week that two prominent people committed suicide highlighting again the devastation of this mental illness. The simplistic, pejorative, callous and cavalier way the main character talked about people who kill themselves was very difficult to read.I get it that she is an ER trauma nurse and a medical examiner who confronts needless and pointless and frustrating deaths everyday. So she has no quarter for suicides and makes that very clear. Of course the author has the right to take on any issue she wants to that she feels strongly about but when I go to read murder mystery that's not the kind of rant I expect to find.It put me off the character in a big way which was too bad because the story had promise. But readers should be aware.

Thrilling medical myatery!.
Molly is an exhausted trauma nurse, working two jobs to get by when she noticed that there are an unusual number of lawyers committing suicide. When she comes across evidence that the deaths are not random, she's compelled to find out how, why - & a few surprising whos. Good characters, realistic background & a suspenseful plot with a couple of twists make this a fast & absorbing read.

BUY IT, BORROW IT....JUST READ IT!
This is a book filled with likeable characters and a tenacious lead in Molly. It was one of those books I hated to put down. If time allowed I would have read it cover to cover! It may not be brand new, but it is a book I think many will find themselves reading more than once. I have read it twice and found myself engaged both times from start to finish. This is one of those 5 star reviews I rank as one of the firmest. I read 3 to 6 books a month. I give many 5 stars. I write comments for the ones that exceed my limit of 5. I never write a review until I have read a book at least twice. I also never go into plot lines in my comments. I feel a general comment is better so as not to ruin a page for those who choose to read a book. The only time I discuss plots is if I have a real problem with the books believe-ability. Or to clarify what might be important to other readers.I am not an author. (I wish I was ) However, the readers of my comments can see I don't have the way with words an author needs.I am a reader. I comment for other readers. That is the extent of my writing.I hope you enjoy " Bad Medicine " should you choose to read it.

Did I miss it?
I found myself reading along, and circumstances have changed. For example, the main character was put on “leave” and in the next chapter she’s back to work. Possibly I was sleep reading, but whatever the reason, I missed her being reinstated. She also lives in an expensive home (with Picasso’s on the wall) but I don’t recall how she found herself in that situation. Her character doesn’t reflect a wealthy upbringing. Whatever, I wouldn’t rush to read this one.

A bit of a wonder....
This was a fun mystery. Not so much in a joyful way, but in a convoluted way. It's a book that you have a pretty good idea of "who" fairly early on, but not "why" until the end. The action scenes near the end were particularly well written.I think the one thing that bothered me was that I felt how I do when watching a B horror film. I wonder why are these characters doing something so risky and stupid, when everyone around them is dropping like flies? I guess it would take me a little more than perseverance to continue along this route. After awhile in the book I would wonder why this intelligent woman often intentionally puts herself in such predictable jeopardy. It can't be just that she's a righteous or curious person. I concluded she must have bad judgement, which kind of takes away from being the heroine.Nevertheless I enjoyed the characters and action. I tend to enjoy medical mysteries, I don't know why.

Highly engrossing, taut thriller
Great story again set in a medical background. Great characters, lots of detail describing the scene, dialog and pacing spot on. I had no clue who the ultimate villain was.Really enjoy Ms. Dreyer's novels. They deserve a human proofreader, though.

Thoroughly satisfying novel
Medical mysteries and legal thrillers are my favorites, and this medical mystery was very satisfying. The main characters were well-developed, interesting and somewhat flawed, as most people are. I grew to love the ER nurse Molly and cheered her on as I raced through this book. The lawyer, Frank, was captivating and the interplay between the two created enough tension to make me want him to be a lawyer with integrity and the ability to truly care about others and their situations.Sometimes people need to read a book that wraps up in a heart-warming way. I loved this book and thank Amazon for its connection with BookBub for once again introducing me to yet another author who will be on my "have-to-read" list.

4.5 Stars
What a fabulous writer! Riveting plots, insanely authentic & complex cast of characters, wisecracks as sharp as a scalpel, and an ending you will never see coming! This is the second truly memorable novel I’ve read by this author, and I can hardly wait to crack the cover on the next one!! No wonder she’s a best-selling author! Move over Janet Evanovich - seriously!

EILEEN DRYER
I have now read all of this authors books and I love them all. Always a surprise. Well written. The added twist of romance as well as lots of sometimes quite gory murders - can't go wrong

Eileen Dreyer does it again!
Once again I couldn't put this Dreyer book down: I loved it and was kept on the edge of my seat the whole way through. A really unexpected ending as well, I can't recommend this book highly enough!
