Good overview of Social Media Guerrilla Marketing
While the headline states my general feelings about this book, it's important to recognize that it is 10 years old. Much of the specifics of social media platforms have been changed or replaced. It will provide good basic ideas and approaches, but will require checking current websites, podcasts, and other (online) sources to see the latest platforms and their refinements. But still serves as a good mental "trigger" to refinements, new approaches in a generalized sense, for one's own business. These series of books serve to provide ideas and approaches that move one to implementation, subject to additional update research.

Simple The Best of The Best If You Are Serious About Success
After 30 years turning around businesses, it was like meeting my soul mate to discover Jay Conrad Levinson and his Guerrilla Marketing genius. Anyone who has had to grow a business on a shoestring budget will connect with and devour this content. You'll find that lightbulbs going on in your mind like christmas lights on a skycraper.Since reading some of his Guerrilla Marketing masterpieces I have attended trainings with both Jay and Jeannie Levinson and now know them to be extraordinarily hard-working and dedicated teachers. Jay tells the story of writing Guerrilla Marketing for his students at Berkeley. The book found an audience selling millions of copies.I can highly recommend this book that Jeannie and Jay have painstakingly compiled highlighting some of their favorite content from a combination of the Guerrilla Marketing books. This is a great place to start your Guerrilla library and education, packed full of gems.Cydney O'Sullivan, Author How to Be Wealthy NOW! 108 Fast Cash Solutions, and Social Marketing Superstars, Social Media Mystery to Mastery in 30 Days - Forword by Jay Conrad Levinson, Available on Amazon

Bigger and better...
As a business counselor, I purchased The Best of Guerrilla Marketing--Guerrilla Marketing Remix  to have a newer version of Guerrilla Marketing, without having seen the book. When it arrived I found this to be a far greater than expected, bringing in parts of the diverse Guerrilla Marketing Series: From Publicity to Job Hunting, Public Speaking to Financing and more in one volume. With the Guerrilla view of low cost and creative approaches that can knock the results out of the park, it gets the mind thinking creatively here is how I can apply this to...

Very useful
Bought these books for my grandson, who is 11 years old. He did lawn service, saved money to buy a new lawn mower and other lawn maintenance tools. I had earlier publications of this book. I found it very useful.

The Marketing Bible
The book is great! I have a digital and a hard copy of the book. If you are not sure about how to market your business, this is the book to get. Levinson covers everything from online marketing to business cards and newspaper advertisements. The Best of Guerilla Marketing is the Marketing Bible for every business.

all Fluff, no peanut butter
it's a disappointment. It has a lot of good advice like, create an ad that will still be interesting even after a person watches it 40 times, but doesn't tell you how to do so. It gives some basic and obvious advice, and cites many "guerilla" ad campaigns such as The Marlboro Man (was that really a small and cheap campaign????), but fails to tell the reader just how to implement these super strategies. Just repeating that a guerilla marketer knows to be super clever and super smart on the cheap doesn't actually teach you squat.

Somewhat Dated
Parts are somewhat dated but generally still relevant. Helpful!

Some Gems and lots of common sense
This is a long book and as such is both a good introduction to Levinson's Guerilla Marketing Books and a one-stop-shop reference for those who are fans of his work.I'm currently half way through the book and here are some points:* There are some real gems in here...the 7 sentence marketing strategy, the lists of marketing weapons, best advertising etc. These are pure gold and as such, the worth the price of the book* large parts of the book read like a manifesto for a guerilla marketer...featuring long paragraphs of prose like "guerillas aim for results more than growth. they are focused upon profitability and balance, vitality and improvement...their plans call for steadily increasing profits without a sacrifice of personal time..." [you get the idea...much of this is good advice but no concrete steps for how to do these things].These bits make the book wordy and long but not as impactful as the other type of material this book contains [checklists, bullet points, next actions].All in all, this is an excellent place to look for a broad understanding of the attitudes of a successful guerilla marketer, some great ideas for how to use guerilla marketing weapons and tactics and it contains the best ideas/information from many of his older books. If you're considering purchasing a Levinson book and are a bit overwhelmed by the 27 or so other titles available in this series, this is the book to begin with!

Hard to review
This book is a little hard to review. The book's title is misleading, largely because the authors have stretched their own guerilla concept to include every sales marketing and business practice under the sun. Thus the word 'guerilla' could be replaced with 'alpha marketers' or 'smart people' or 'clever little dolphins' and it wouldn't make much difference. So if you, like me, were looking specifically for low cost ingenuity to create attention-grabbing marketing in a desensitized market, you may be disappointed. These are not the ninjas you are looking for. its hard to say that a creator of a term doesn't understand its specific meaning but there it is. This is likely a result of brand stretching. Guerilla sells well so it has been applied to every business topic in existence. Fair enough, and it is partly a philosophy, but it has been partly diluted in the process. If the book had been called guerilla business practices, I might be more on-side.That said, this book is full of sales tips, yes marketing ideas, business practices, negotiating tactics, self-improvment and motivational methods and more. I learned a lot of useful stuff so its hard not to recommend it as it is a good read. Just not exactly what I wanted to buy. So just be sure it is what you want before you click. This is the first business book I ever bought. If you already own many, this may duplicate a lot you have already read.
