The Waldorf Book of Poetry: Discover the Power of Imagination

We are a homeschooling family, and we have been able to use so many of these poems to supplement and enhance our learning experience! We try to learn at least one poem a week by heart, and then we've used several for other lessons. The math and number poems are simply amazing and work perfectly with teaching young children the quality of numbers, the rhythm of times tables, and the fun of math functions. Seriously. :)

The poetry is wonderful for young readers to introduce them to this form of writing. Unfortunately, it was a used book and I was unable to give it as the main gift that I had hoped, but the poetry is there and the little still gets to read it.

This is a beautiful book full of treasures. It will take you through all the subjects, all the seasons, all the grades. Essential to Waldorf homeschoolers! Can’t recommend highly enough!

My 7 year old daughter shared a poem from this at a community porch night and people loved it so much they asked her to repeat it so they could write it down.It's part of our homeschool library and while it's used for a kindergartener, it will be used for many years (a big span of depth and length in the book's poems)

I have long wanted to add poetry to our morning time, but have never loved it myself. This book has such beautiful poems that are rhythmic and lovely. It also contains excerpts of popular poems and texts. Wonderful addition to our library and morning time!

My children and I read poems aloud from this book several times a week. We love this book so much! It's such a good compilation of poetry.

A beautiful book to read - full of classic works, rich poetic and prose language - nothing shabby or crass. A good resource book for the home and for teaching. Great for children, youths as well as for adults.

The book would get 4-5 stars but the edition received is terrible many (maybe half) the pages have faded and illegible lines thus many of the poems are incomplete- will probably return if I can find a way to do so without spending a fortinr for shipping

A must-have for all children. A delightful book filled with poems of all sorts, grouped into types (seasons, animals etc) which is a joy to dip into with your child. We read a couple of poems daily with our toddler and ot has slipped into our routine. I love the choices and feel it's a great book for anyone of any age.

Amazing book on beautiful poetry, including poetry from around the world including ancient Greek and Egyptian, classics old and new, the entire family enjoy this book, would highly recommend
