Casabella Refill for Original Mop (Replacement for Item 50007 and 5008), Brown - 51000

This mop is so nice. The natural sponge head picks up the dirt and it is so easy to wring out.

This is the best built mop I have found. The heads are securely held and remain in place. The sponge mop heads do not last but since they are a direct fit with O-Cedar power scrub heads it is easy to replace them. The mop profile is small enough to fit under beds which is a plus.

We've used this roller mop for several years and it's a sturdy, well designed product. The sponge heads don't last very long at all, though. They deteriorate and fall apart, leaving pieces here and there. Most replacement heads aren't much better except one. The O-Cedar Power Scrub replacement head is no longer made, but they are still being offered for sale. They seem awfully expensive, but the one we have has outlasted 4 or 5 of the Casabella sponge heads. It fits the Casabella mop perfectly. ( The O-Cedar mop handle, though, isn't very sturdy) If you want a winning combination that will last for a year or more of constant use, try the Casabella handle with the O-Cedar Power Scrub head combination.

The quality of the mop is very high.It feels well built and designed very well.The sponge is not very good,it holds up well but it is not absorbent it just kind of spreads the liquid around.They should offer a mop head with a standard nitrocellulose mop head.I had a rubbermaid mop that was a copy of this mop and it was even more expensive but it was a piece of junk.They did a horrible job copying the cassabela mop,it does not squeeze well and the mop head falls off constantly.It was not a usable mop but it did have a good mop head.Very absorbent and wicked up the mesh very well.Would like that mop head on this mop then it would be a perfect mop.After owning the Rubbermaid Commercial Cellulose Sponge Mop (FG643500BRNZ) it is a complete joy to use the cassabella mop.This mop just has a very precise high quality feel to it.The head never falls off and it squeezes the mop head very well,the rollers are rigid and dont flex the the Rubbermaid does.

I have used these for many years to mop my bathroom and laundry floors so they do not get hard use at all. In the past I would be able to use the same sponge 4 or 5 times which is the minimum I expect given that they are not inexpensive. I had to throw one out recently b/c after using it twice it has torn or stretched - not entirely clear which - and so I could no longer squeeze the water out properly. I hoped it was just that one but having used the one I used today twice it's the same problem. Casabella, this is unacceptable.

As a person in my 60s with arthritis, I was overjoyed to find and use this mop. it's much easier to scrub with than other mops and does a better job of cleaning the floor. it's also easy to rinse and squeeze the extra cleaning water out of the mop head. This should be easily a 5-star mop, BUT the sponge mop head comes out of its permanent holder, section by section, way too soon. In fact, the first mophead had started coming out of its holder before it was sent to me. Their customer service was great and sent me a replacement mop head. In very little time, that sponge started working itself out of the head. The sponge can no longer be squeezed dry enough to do an effective mopping job. Replacement heads are available, but sooner than should be they too end up doing the same thing and become unusable.

Excellent replacement for my Bee mop. Fits perfectly.

I tried several other of the "cheaper" Vileda mops when our trusty old steel "Bee Mop" finally fell apart a few years ago. Those "cheaper" mops never seemed to last and would break quickly --- being tired of the cheaper alternatives, I ordered the "Casabella Original Mop, Painted Steel" to try and find an equally sturdy replacement to the original. This mop has worked well for several years; however, what prompted me to write this review is the outstanding support from the manufacturer (Casabella). I recently had a problem with the mop handle and reached out to the company for support. They were responsive and quickly took care of the issue. Beyond the quality of the item, this positive experience with the manufacturer would lead me to recommend this mop to anyone looking for a quality item backed by a company that takes pride in its products.
