Great for moss
I bought this for my 40 gallon bowfront aquarium, which has mosses and bamboo growing above the water level, and to keep them hydrated. I had it on a glass mason jar in the back of my tank so my fish couldn't interact with it, having water from the filter splash down onto it.Not only did this do a phenomenal job, I had it on daily since I bought it, Nov 25, 2019. It only just broke 2 days ago as of writing this, Oct 27 2020. Over time the mist level did drop until it was hardly producing (last picture), but most of that was my own fault for a lack of cleaning it and oxidization on the metal building up.Pros:-Kept my mosses and bamboo hydrated daily-Looked amazing and made for incredible pictures of my aquarium-Needed no instructions for use-Lasted MUCH longer than expected-Entertaining to blow the mist aroundCons:-Did oxidize a lot-If water level dropped too low, it would sputter and hiss loudly-Can easily be knocked off its platform by fish, due to being lightweight-Not the most power efficientAll in all, I'll almost certainly buy this again and have plans to use one in a different tank when I get it set up.

Perfect for DIY reptile fogger
Great little inexpensive device. I used it to build a fogger for a snake enclosure, it does the job perfectly and saved me a bundle of money. It produces enough mist in 5-10min to fill up the whole enclosure (too much for me! I have mine is controlled with a humistat) but in an open room it disperses quickly. I would agree with other reviews that for large, open air projects it may not make enough mist. It also splashes a lot, since it's closed into a jug it's not a problem for me but the spalshing and/or splashing noise may ruin the effect for some users. It does work best with a particular water height, too much or too little doesn't produce enough mist. For my fogger I used a floating basket to keep it at the right water level.I'll be buying another of these to setup for my other snake.

Yeah foggeh!
I got this to add to a second fogponic bucket. When I got the box, it was ripped open, came in a box for another product, and had water spots on it. Obviously I didn't get a new product, as was checked on the box (that or Amazon opened it to make sure the right product was in there) because the box was for a black plastic fogger with LED lights. (which I actually have from a previous order)I got this one because it had no LEDs and would decrease the chance for algae build-up in my grow bucket.Upon testing it, I noticed that the mist output was really nothing special, although it didn't shoot the water like the plastic one did as far up (that one did at least 9" of splashing) this one did about half that.. and the amount of fog was also half of my other one. It certainly isn't outputting enough fog to start an immature plant in a 5gal bucket, but as my tomato has a well established root system, it's not too much of an issue.4/16/15 :Well I certainly must say I'm impressed; Despite the fog output being rather poor; it still manages to fill the entire 5-gal bucket with fog (using 1gal of nutrient solution). But it still requires a fairly long duty-cycle, I don't think anything less than 15-minutes on/off would be enough.1/17/16: Well it happened, the fogger finally died (actually it died around October of 2015), so I'm not sure if the unit itself died, or just the disk needs to be replaced. The unit itself is starting to peel and get slightly rusted, and the ceramic disk is all scratched, so I'm going to see if I can order a new disk and start my fogponics back up indoors.

Paint flakes off.
We've had one of these for a couple months as a fogger for our python. One of the replacement atomizers doesn't work, and now the metallic paint is peeling off. It works just fine (with a working atomizer), but the little metal paint flakes everywhere is a pain. That's what we get for trying to save a buck over a proper repti-fogger.

A great way to add humidity to a plant cabinet (and the mist looks cool)
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this to add humidity to a plant cabinet and it has worked out well. I have it plugged into a WIFI switch and I scheduled it to run for 2 minutes every hour from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm- this keeps the humidity up without making everything soaking wet. As a bonus, the mist that it generates looks cool and I love to watch it- it is very soothing. There are some things about it that are helpful to know-1. it splashes quite a bit, so you might want to put it inside something to contain that. I put it in a large stemless wine glass that I tilted over so it is almost on its side and propped up in a white plastic jar lid, but I want to try putting it in a small teapot as that would contain the splash well and I am 99% sure that the mist would pour out of the spout.2. You need to use regular water with it- Reverse Osmosis water doesn't work well. I was hoping to be able to use the RO water so it would stay cleaner, but it only made about half as much mist as it made with regular water.3. It does get a little gunky- I clean the mister and the glass about once a week.

Lacking Longevity, unless using Distilled water.
For those seeking to add a touch of mist or atmosphere to a room, the Atomizer Mist Maker may seem like the ideal solution. However, despite fast shipping, the Atomizer Mist Maker did not provide a long-lasting solution. After a few weeks of great performance, the mist produced by the device began to slow down and eventually stopped altogether. Upon inspection, it was found that water minerals had adhered to the top of the device, rendering it unusable. In addition, the device also rusted out after a few months of use, further shortening its lifespan.Though the Atomizer Mist Maker may have been great for those seeking a short-term solution, there are better mist makers out there for those looking for a longer-lasting solution. We purchased the Atomizer Mist Maker, but wouldn't recommend it to others looking for a device with greater longevity.
