Doesn’t fit perfectly but does the job!
The media could not be loaded. I bought this to protect my new Sony rx100 m3, and it fits great, it’s hard to find a perfect case that fits perfectly and so Ofcourse this doesn’t fit perfectly because it’s a universal case, but it does the job and it was great for the price. I’m definitely going to be using this case from now on when we go on adventures. And I love the vintage vibe it gives off too.

This was a good case... until...
I bought this case in 2020, and it has been a very useful case for our Sony RX-100 VI, and has been used about every day.So I recommended it to a friend. Oops. It's been redesigned. Yes the new product photos are correct. It now has a shoulder strap that's connected to the camera by what appears to be a rather small string. I never would have recommended it with the simple strap. I'd be scared to use it like this on a small but expensive camera.I've included a picture here of what I got in 2020... A sturdy strap connected with a sturdy tab and ring provide a nice shoulder or neck strap. So much better.Until they go back to the older design, I'd pass.

Nice little case that kinda makes a little RX100 look like a real camera.
One disappointing aspect of owning a little RX100 camera is that it doesn’t look like the amazing photographic powerhouse that it is due to its compactness. This well made and relatively inexpensive leather case does a good job not only of protecting my RX100 but of making it look more like a real camera, something along the lines of a classic Leica or legacy 35mm film camera which were often carried in leather cases similar to this. I’ve had my case about a month and I’m very happy with it. It comes with a strap to carry the camera around my neck and I need only flip the cover open to take photos. Naturally, I can’t fit the camera in my pocket anymore with this on, so there is a bit of a compactness trade off involved. Also, I have to remove the case, done easily by rotating the screw at the bottom, to change batteries - not hard but a bit harder than it would be otherwise. My A7 has a similar leather case with a little door over the battery slot at the bottom held closed by a snap. It would be nice if this camera had that too. Finally, there is no room in this case to store an extra battery. I have to use my pocket for that. Overall, I’m very pleased with this for the price.

Good protection for the camera
The primary purpose of having a case is to protect the camera. This case serves that purpose well. The material is thicker than I expected, which is a good thing. The bottom has the most padding so it provides a lot of cushion if the camera falls and hits the bottom. The back also has good padding so if something were to strike the back of the camera, the LCD should not be broken. All other parts have adequate padding so this is a really good case to protect the camera. However, there are a few drawbacks. First of all, the fit and finish isn't great. If you look closely, the quality isn't there but that's a cosmetic issue. The bottom screw is threaded so in theory, you can attach the camera to a tripod. However, the thread goes through the thick base cushion so the camera will be wobbly if you try attach it to a tripod without first removing the case. The enclosed straps are pretty flimsy but that's not a problem for me. I have always had a good aftermarket strap from one of the respected brands so this was not a drawback for me. One cannot access the battery compartment without taking the camera out of the case. This is a minor inconvenience but not a showstopper for me. Also and because of the bulk of the case, the camera is no longer "pocketable". However, it was always questionable whether I would carry the camera in my pocket so I don't consider this a drawback, either. At the end of the day, this case provides superior protection for the camera and that's really all that matters.
