incorrect information
It's nice to browse through the book, and find out about the herbs' magical properties. But then I found a mistake...(Wild) carrot is used as a contraceptive, so chewing the seeds will definitely not help a woman become pregnant. Although it stimulates the bloodflow in the uterus and pelvic area, it is also an emmenagogue herb that promotes menstruation. Hmmm...This just makes me wonder how many more wrong stuff is in that book. I can't take it serious now and have to double check the information. Shame....

Some plants are missing, but informative and very good for foundation.
I found that some plants are missing for example Oregano. Maybe it has a reason and also it is a little old book so I am not sure. But other than that, I am finding it very useful when I burn herbs and make my own incense to put my intention accurately.

A must have!
A great book by the legendary Scott Cunningham who's easy going writing style has made it easy for most of us to read his books and this is certainly no exception, read, enjoy and learn! This is probably the best encyclopedia on the magical value of herbs and what their attributes are, it is not a 'how too' book but is a real mine of information & a must for any one studying any elements of the craft even if not really into the herbal side of things, if there is one 'must have' book on herbs, this would be it!I have used it in conjunction with other more medicinal based herb books and I would recommend anyone who is interested in herbs for magic to also read up on the medicinal values of herbs too, they both go hand in hand really, especially for the crafty hedgewitches out there!

Okay
I like this, however do not buy this as a guide on how to use or grow herbs this book simply tells you the meaning and mythology of the plant. If you want to grow herbs and use them in your craft maybe get a gardening book as well.
