The more I use them, the more I like these speakers.
Here's another attempt to reduce a very complex combination of personal listening experience opinions to a written review.I have had a succession of Logitech 2.1 speakers over the years, the latest was the Z2300. The Z2300 set quit before I could compare this one side-by-side with it, so I wasn't able to do a direct comparison. I believe the Z2300 bass had a lot more punch than this set, so at first I thought these were not quite as good. After a few days, and a few adjustments, I began to appreciate that these are very nice speakers. I noticed I was hearing more mid and high range details than I had been hearing on the Z2300. For listening to movies on my laptop, I found that using hard-wiring is preferable because Bluetooth processing , transmission and decoding creates a perceptible lag in the audio. Hardwired audio syncs better with the video. In order not to have a bass boom that covers movie dialogue, I found that I had to do 2 things with these speakers...reduce the bass on the speakers to -6 and boost the treble to +6, as well as setting my player software (Quicktime) to minimum bass and maximum treble. I can hear and understand dilogue much better with these set that way than I was ever able to hear it on the Z2300.This may or may not be due to my age, personal hearing spectrum deficiencies, etc., but I'm just trying to relate my experience, and that's what it is.I use Bluetooth for streaming iTunes or Radio Paradise from my iPhone, and bring the bass back up for that. Streaming music is where I am hearing more full-spectum details than I had before. The bass is fine, and maybe more accurate than the Z2300, just not as powerful, or maybe just not as over-powering.Pairing is easy with my iPhone, iPad or MacBook.I have the speakers and amplifier all within about 3 feet or less of an LCD TV, Airport wireless base station, T-Mobile Microcell, Cable Modem, Cable Box, Apple TV, HP laser printer and cordless telephone base station and am hearing no interference buzz, hiss etc. at all from the speakers. The remote works fine for adjusting volume and switching inputs, and the simple +6 to -6 adjustments for bass and treble levels is sufficient for basic shaping of what you're listening to. These may not be audiophile quality speakers, but for $180 I think they're just fine.I leave the physical switch in the on position, and use the remote's power switch to put it in standby. I'll try not to feel guilty about burning the 6 watts someone measured that it uses in standby.

Nice Bang for the buck, but they are 66 watts RMS, not 72
I'm not sure why they are advertised as 72 watts RMS, because the box says in large font "66 watts". The manual also says 66 watts RMS, 330 watts peak.Anyway, they sound good. I really like that nothing is hard-wired, meaning the speakers connect by clipping one end of the speaker wire into the back of the speakers and the other end into the back of the control center. If the included wire is too short, you can use your own speaker wire and make it the exact length you need. The build quality seems very nice. One review said that you need the remote to change inputs, but the volume knob on the control center doubles as an input selector by pressing it like a button. The bass is nice and deep, much deeper and with much more range than the 68 watt Cyber Acoustic 2.1 speakers I replaced. This type of bass is really well suited to movies and video games... you feel it in your gut. The bass maybe lacks a little of the punch that you want to hear when listening to certain types of music (like EDM).Overall, it would be hard to find a better 2.1 speaker set for $80.

Unit doesn't work and I can't get a hold of support by phone
I just got the speakers in today, but the right channel on the processing unit doesn't work. I tried to call to get some support on the number provided in the box, but there doesn't seem to be anyone there to answer the phones. The one channel sounds great and I would love to find out how to either fix the problem or get the central processing unit replaced, but the lack of communications options doesn't seem to make this possible. Now to figure out how to return it... It's a shame...it seems like, otherwise, a really nice set of speakers.Update: I never got a hold of their support, but Amazon is replacing it. I will have a new set of speakers tomorrow, so I will update this to review them, assuming they work.Update: I got the new unit. Both channels work, but there is a lot of noise coming from the woofer. It is coming from the the circuitry for the woofer. I can connect another speaker to it and I get the same noise. Maybe 3rd time will be a charm?

Amazing sound for the price
Excellent sound quality. Used mainly for classical, vocal and folk music. Needed a few hours burn-in like most speakers to loose a few raw edges but now I'm really happy with them.Only a couple of cons: They loose the settings if powered off completely so it's probably better to use your PC sound card mixer settings for base and treble. Also I've noticed that the control unit goes into standby mode if they are not actually playing music after a couple of minutes silence, eg at the end of a CD. You then have to re-select the input channel to re-activate them. I don't know if this is a power saving "feature" or a fault.

A great 2.1 set for the money
For this price point, you can't really do much better in terms of audio quality & power than this system. Throw in built in bluetooth as well & and it's a real bargain. Also noticed that you seem to get more power from the first set of RCA inputs than the second, which is probably by design for lower powered devices. Got my Chromecast Audio plugged in and got tunes really pumping out from Spotify & TuneIn radio in my rear patio.Highs can sound a little bright on occasion but treble (& bass) are fully adjustable so no problem. Bass does indeed seems to approach the rated 30Hz as low sub bass doesn't cut out as much as on similar priced speakers. And the bass does not distort even when turned up loud (& it does go loud indeed). For the money, a great buy if you're looking for a decent budget 2.1 speaker set. Only thing missing for me is an optical digital input but that's asking a bit much for the price point.

Best 2.1 system I came across (to date)!
This speaker system wipes the floor with the competition, even more so if you take into account the price. We have a Logitech Z623 in the family and we were VERY impressed with that (and still are up to an extent) but the T&V Ratsel is better on all counts. By the time you factor in the Bluetooth and remote and I/O, the Ratsel wins hands down. The bass is really punchy and well rounded, it makes you feel that you are in a club with good speakers (your neighbours will NOT be impressed if you turn it up!).It has very little distortion at high volume and it can cover different styles of music with ease.Highly recommended!!
