Don't wait, buy now
I have been looking for a large round brush like this for a little while. I happened upon this, and thought I would give it a go. It arrived in perfect condition, pristine actually. Now that I had it, I needed to find a piece to paint. Well, I did, actually I found a few, of a couple different sizes. I quickly grabbed my brush and got to work. Oops, I was so excited, I did not follow instructions and wash the brush to remove any loose bristles; this did not turn out to be a problem at all. I think I found three bristles as I painted, and that was like one per piece, honestly. Well, the verdict was in, and I love it! It held paint well without dripping (I was using a thicker paint, but drips have always caused me problems) it went on smoothly, and covered as much area as I wanted. No complaints. Onto the medium sized piece. Again, no complaints, and was now cursing myself that I had not bought this sooner, as I would have saved myself a lot of hassles. I do have to say, with two kids in college, $18.00 and myself are not easily parted, however, I have come to learn that good tools are well worth the money, and for this tool, it's a no brainer. Moving on to the smaller piece. Yes, I would use it again as apposed to a regular smaller, or angled brush. I used the Brossum on the legs, flat surfaces, and other parts this would fit. There were some smaller "holes" that I did need a one inch brush for, so after, I just went and filled in using that. As for clean up. No issues, I usually have the paint line in my brushes, can't seem to get them fully clean, but this too was not an issue. I used black paint, and you would never know it. I rinsed until all the paint that was going to come out was out, then I used a drop or two of dish soap, and it is back to being perfect. I love the fact that I can hang it up, as it comes with the leather loop, and not just a hole in the brush. I can't say enough about the Brossum. The company also seems (although there was obviously no need) to be very interested, and conscientious about putting out great products, and have no doubt they would offer excellent customer service. If you are looking for a good brush, make it this one.

Very good finishing brush
Thick bristles, good product holding quality, easy to clean up; very few loose bristles. If this wears out, I'll buy another.

Very good brush!
I first purchased chalk paint and wax brushes for about $15 each from my local craft store because Lowe's didn't have any. I ended up washing the paint off because the bristles shed so badly and returned the brushes. I then drove over 45 minutes and spent $50 and $75 each on Annie Sloan chalk paint and wax brushes. I was very disappointed in them as well as I had the same problem. I was constantly picking out bristles. It wasn't as bad as the craft store brushes, but still a hastle. Not wanting to spend another arm and leg on a second set of brushes, I decided to give this a try and was very pleased. Very few lost bristles and a little softer than the Annie Sloan's. I'm going to buy a couple more because I often have multiple projects going at the same time.*Update: After leaving this review, I decided to Google loose bristles in Annie Sloan brushes, and discovered that you're supposed to wash and bang 'em around AND paint on some paper and wash 'em again before first use... who knew? I wish they'd mentioned that on a label.

Peefect brush for the beginning overly ambitious chalk painter!
This brush was everything that I wanted my first chalk paint brush to be and more! It exceeded All my expectations. The petite size was perfect for eliminating fatigue and covering large areas with fewer Strokes. It was also amazingly easy and quick to clean. Long bristles made it easy to get into every nook and cranny. Figuring out a way to dry the bristles was a snap because of the handy leather strap attached to the brush. All I had to do was hang it up by the strap and the brush bristles dried in a few hours. My only area of concern and hesitation for buying a second blush was several loose bristles. Perhaps as my chalk painting technique gets a little more refined this will eliminate the problem. But for me as a beginner I saw several loose long bristles in my dry paint and a few more that I took out the paint jar as I was painting. The next time I buy another brush I'll be sure to remove or find a way to get rid of all those extra bristles beforehand. Overall great value and an excellent purchase. I would consider purchasing again!

Brossum is awesome.
I originally ordered two of these brushes to help with the painting of a faux stone wall feature I'm in the process of creating. I thought they were so amazing that I had to order two more. The good: these brushes are big and sturdy and good to apply paint or wax with (I'm using Inka Gold paints, which are acrylic mixed with wax). The not-as-good: if you need a brush for tiny spaces or detail work, these won't work. They are just too big and bulky. However, they are more than worth it for getting several types of texturing and painting in larger areas. They WILL shed at first, so you definitely want to take the time to clean the brush thoroughly before the first use if you don't want to pick bristles out of your design. All in all, I'm in love with these brushes. They were an excellent buy and I'm so glad I found these at the start of my project.
