Yes!
These hiking shoes are all they claim to be, and they're a great bargain. I walk a lot on very rough, often wet surfaces; I want tough outsoles, good traction, firm ankle support, two or three speed-lace "eyelets," waterproofing as high as possible, and kindness to my tender soles. And I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars. To find shoes that met all my criteria, I had to switch from women's size 8.5 wide to men's size 7 regular, doing crazy-compulsive comparisons of shoe-size charts and hoping for the best. Well, the men's size seven is supposed to be a couple of millimeters shorter than the women's size eight-and-a-half, but the inside length feels the same to my feet and the width is precisely the same. Hurray! Compared with my Propet (women's) Eiger mid-highs, these Nevados feel a little sturdier (but the Propets are practically worn out now), and they're not quite so easy to lace snugly down near the front of the shoe. Compared with my Propets and Pemos, these Nevados have a top eyelet that is higher on the shoe than is ideal, but the top lacing and knot do not contact my skin no matter how tightly they're laced for optimum support; having the top eyelet a little too high is better than having to make do with fewer eyelets and a less secure fit. By coincidence, my first outing wearing these Nevados was the same difficult, rocky ocean beach as I wore when my Propets were brand new, and my two experiences were the same: I've found another great-fitting, comfortable, supportive, waterproof shoe.

Our third pair of Nevados
I got our younger son a pair of Nevados Fissure boots a couple of years ago. He needed some decent boots for farm work and hiking, but I didn't want to spend a fortune and have him outgrow them in 6 months. I liked that these are waterproof and hold up to lots of hiking and outdoor work, and that they're comfortable and have good arch support.I just ordered a third pair of these boots (I also have a pair) for our older son, and I'm very happy with them. When hiking boots can cost in the hundreds, it's nice to find a good dependable pair for about $60.

Great Workshoes
My husband is a groundskeeper for a hospital campus, and shoes are sometimes difficult for him to find. He needed shoes that were first and foremost comfortable, but also weather-proof, sturdy, and DIDN'T have a steel toe. These shoes were perfect for his needs and our budget. They fit him just about right (we ordered it true to size and it fits him well at a size 13). The sides are solid with a mesh outer layer so they allow for flexibility without sacrificing weatherproofing. He really enjoys them.

Nevados men's hiking boots
Fit well and are easy to put on/take off. I haven't worn them a great deal yet, so can't attest to their durability. They do seem to be well constructed of durable materials, so I'm anticipating a long life from them. If they disappoint in this area, I'll update this review accordingly.

Great boot!
Bought this for my husband who wanted both a work boot for standing walking & standing in an auto shop daily plus be able to wear hiking occasionally. This boot seems to fit the bill, comfortable, waterproof & looks good too! I'm going to buy myself a pair of Nevados now as well, seem to be a decent priced boot all around.

Love these boots
Love these boots. They are comfy after a reasonable break in period. The laces are a bit cheap and weak, mine broke after a couple months, but it was an easy fix to replace them.

I've always liked Nevados
I really like the look of these shoes. They are a little tight across the ball of my feet which is something I hadn't run into before with Nevados. I've worn Nevados shoes for 15 years and really like them.

Best hiking boots!
Best hiking boots! I wear these daily due to bad ankle that caused me to limp and I get hip pain. With these shoes I no longer limp or have any pain walking. I have been wearing them for over a year. They are light weight with excellent support and a price you can easily afford!

Get what you pay for. No arch support. ...
Get what you pay for. No arch support. The waterproofing gave out in less the a month of light hiking infrequently (mile a week on flat ground).
