Meh. Quickbooks doesn't have to be good, just better than Sage 50. . . .
It has been some years since we used PeachTree (as Sage 50 was formally known)- the last time was around the time Sage acquired Peachtree and we bought the new version of PeachTree and it would not run on the current version of Windows at the time and no one ever answered the phone when we called for help - on hold for over an hour. So, we got mad at PeachTree and switched to Quickbooks. Probably a decade went by and now we decided to try it again.Pros: It looks like antique software - if you're used to old PeachTree accounting and are reluctant to upgrade to something modern, then this is probably for you. It imports data from Quickbooks - with some issues - see cons section below. We were able to get it to run on Windows 10 release 1809 just fine.Cons: It is more expensive (slightly) than Quickbooks with less functionality. We were able to import company data from Quickbooks into Sage 50 successfully, however, Sage 50 truncates several things like Vendor, Customer names, and Account names. Really, Sage? This is 2019 - Microsoft has had long file names now for over 20 years! The directions for importing data from Quickbooks say to reconcile all of your bank accounts before converting, then after the conversion, it says you'll have to reconcile them again manually because the reconciliation does not transfer - huh?Sage has all of the standard accounting reports, but does not have the pretty graphs like Quickbooks has to compare this year to last year and previous years, does not have the nice pie graph showing expenses for a certain period. It's nice to be able to look at a glance and see what's going on with having to run reports and interpret numbers. We tried to look up how to transfer money between accounts - a very simple operation in Quickbooks. We never did figure out how to do it in Sage 50 - the online help pages all have instructions for doing this which either don't apply to Sage 50 2019, or are just incorrect. They reference buttons and icons which are just not there. However, the problem which caused us to return the software to Amazon is entering a bill from a Vendor - Sage 50 allows you to allocate the entire bill to one Customer, however, we order from our vendor for multiple customers on one invoice - Quickbooks allows you to allocate per line item in the Vendor's bill to each customer.Other Thoughts: Save yourself $50 and buy Quickbooks until something better comes out. Sage, like Intuit is trying to push everyone to their cloud based subscriptions - they like their money every month! Grumble, grumble - Get off my lawn!

Original Data was lost. Support team not help me to recover. Just want me to buy a higher version.
Before I bought this product I search and read the Q&A from Amazon.Question:Will it import old peachtree accounting software?Answer:This version can convert data from versions 2010 and up. If your data is in an older version, our support team can assist you with the upgrade so that you do not lose your data.By Manufacturer Manufacturer on September 13, 2018After I read Q&A I decided to buy this software Sage 50 Pro Accounting 2019 to upgrade my 2011 Peachtree Complete version. I was so happy that I received the product 2 days. I even ordered another one for my church. I used to keep my accounting data with Peachtree 2011 Complete. It is still running good. But I was told that it will not be support by Sage soon. So, I decide to upgrade asap. I installed the program right after I get it. A message recommended me to allow Sage 50 Pro to overwrite the old Peachtree 2011 Complete. I trust their recommendation and clicked ok. Everything seem on the right way. the installation finished within 20 minutes. Then it started to open the existing company. Nightmare things happened. I got a message that Sage 50 Pro cannot open Peachtree 2011 Complete. So, I stopped right away. Next day I called Tech Support. First, they asked me to set up and Account ID. A while later they give me a 10 digits ID number. Couple minutes later they told me I did not buy technical support fee. I told them my problem was I was stuck in open an existing company. If the Sage 50 Pro can't convert it I want to go back to my 2011 Peachtree Complete version first. I need Sage premium 2019 to convert Peachtree 2011 Complete data. They told me the old file was overwritten. The only solution is to buy the Sage 50 Premium one. I need to let people know the Manufacture answer of the Q&A was not correct. Not all Sage 50 can convert all old Peachtree version. They just want me to buy Premium that is double price of the Pro. I tried to call the Tech Support. But I can't reach a life communication. Only answering records. Because I didn't buy support service. It didn't mention on the description of the product. I installed my 2011 Peachtree complete to another desktop. And restore the Nov. 2 2018 ptb data file to it. Nightmare. Data before 2017 is there. 2018 data all gone. I even suspect that if I pay double price to get Sage 50 Premium and support fee they can recovered it. Right now I just want to go back to my 2011 Peachtree Complete status first. Can someone give me suggestion?By loba on December 19, 2018

deceptive at best, frauduant at worst
I love Peachtree Complete 2012 but needed to purchase a newer version as I had lost my original disks and needed to upgrade my computer. I chose Pro Accounting 2019 as I didn't need the same functionality.I was excited when it arrived to install the new program and continue running my business. But that is where my nightmare began. No where in the adverting on Amazon, or in the installation process does it say that this version will not convert my convert data and to stop. Only after the installation and seemingly converting my data and trying to open the new program did I get an error message to tell me it wasn't compatible. I figured there must be a work around, and called technical support [you'll have to hunt for that number as it is not provided in any of the installation materials - hint, getting an uneasy feeling]Once i reached tech support and after he seemed to be shocked that I was having an issue, he arrived upon the fact that I had to upgrade to the same level of program. i.e. premium for complete. He then kindly offered to transfer me to sales so I could buy ANOTHER version of the software. After holding for sales for over 20 minutes, I decided to see if Amazon would offer my the ability to return the software and that's what I'm going to do. Not sure what I'm going to do next. This company is deceptive and employs unfair business practices.STAY AWAY
