Escali DHP2 NSF Listed Digital Pen Thermometer, Black

We’ve had a number or cheaper thermometers get “old” fast and ruin some nice cuts of meat by not registering temp correctly so I finally just got a nicer, more expensive, easy to read one from a name cooks know well. Escali makes great digital scales and so far I’m very happy with this product too.It feels more substantial than the $10 grocery store ones I owner prior and the cover is nicer too.

The shield is the kicker, for a busy utensils drawer. I had a good one already, but was always trying to protect the needle. This one can just be tossed in the drawer. I love it.

It is okay for about 2 times through the dishwasher and then it dies and I have tried several of these

Primero que nada, hare la comparacion entre el escali y un lavatools javelin. La precision del termomentro es bastante buena en distintas aplicaciones culinarias (diferentes temperaturas) comparando ambos termometros el escali tiene un tiempo de lectura final ligeramente mas prolongado (quizas 1 o 2 segundos mas). La construccion es de baja calidad. Lo use un par de dias, limpiando la probeta jale la tapa (donde esta la bateria y la conexion entre ambas partes) y rompi la soldadura de los cables lectores, por este defecto quito una estrella. El escali debe ser encendido de forma manual, el lavatools javelin solo debes mover la probeta en aprox 30 grados y enciende. Aun asi es recomendable siempre y cuando sean cuidadosos.

Works well and is well made. Wish it had the temp info on the tool though
