Pinky & Rex (Ready-To-Read, Level 3)

I purchased these because I remembered them from my childhood. My son absolutely loves these books. They are longer but they still grab the attention of my preschooler. Nice series and great lessons within each book.

My second grade students enjoyed this book. Good introduction to the series about friendship and understanding that people are different.

These are wonderful off-beat books about a little girl named Rex and a little boy named Pinky. They capture life growing up in the late 80's early 90's when kids used to go outside and ride bikes, play "house" and visit museums for fun. For a time era where gender-stereotypes were a huge thing, this book beats off that path to show kids they can be tough girls who love dinosaurs, or sensitive boys who loved stuffed animals.Reading these stories as a child from that time era, shaped my future and made me feel like it was "ok" that I wasn't into all the girly things my sister was.Reading these stories to my own children, they get a glimpse into a past world with good values and lessons about friendship, responsibility and life before electronics.And as an added bonus, each story has a lesson to teach. Sharing, Compassion, How to deal with Bullies, etc.The shipping and packaging was great, the overall quality and condition was fantastic as well!
